New first-person shooter from the team behind TimeSplitters will hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2007.

LOS ANGELES--Ubisoft is set to publish a new first-person shooter from British developers Free Radical Design. The game is named Haze and will be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo for the first time ahead of its scheduled release in early 2007 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

Set 25 years in the future, the game stars Jack Carpenter, who is a newly enlisted soldier in an outsourced military outfit named the Mantel army. The outfit has access to high-tech vehicles, weaponry, and performance-enhancing biomedical support.

The game starts as Carpenter is sent to a war-torn South American country to fight a rebel faction named The Promise Hand. From here, Ubisoft says that "things quickly begin to look a little strange."

Online modes will include co-op and multiplayer. We'll have more on the game from the booth direct from E3.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Probably just a timed exclusive for now. Too bad thou...until 2008..yawn..
I think that they don't want to duke it out with Halo3 this fall..and...Crysis (If it gets a release this fall)

Quote:

When contacted by GameSpot, Ubisoft reps were somewhat cagey. "Haze is leading on PS3, but no exclusivity for any platform has been officially announced," a spokesperson said. This leaves open the possibility that the game could arrive on the 360 and PC sometime in 2008.

Free Radical's David Doak has told Eurogamer that Haze is being developed for multiple formats after all - it's just leading on PlayStation 3.

PS3 Exclusive now..

ign wrote:

July 11, 2007 - One of Sony's biggest reveals at its 2007 E3 press conference is the fact that Ubisoft's first-person shooter Haze isn't multiplatform on day one anymore. Though rumors have been circulating for months that it would go PS3 only, the company finally confirmed that it's exclusively for PS3 today. As an added bonus, it has also confirmed that players will be able to take arms both as Mantel and the rebels fighting against it.

you should read more than just the first sentence...
Quote:
IGN: Is it a permanent exclusive or will it be timed, ala Oblivion?

Key: Haze will only be found on PS3 this holiday season, and will remain exclusive through the first quarter of the calendar year.

-> so I guess we'll see the 360 / PC version Q2 '08...
nothing new... they allways said PS3 would be the "leading platform"...
