Why would you want to first go away from the finish line ?) Build a track that goes at the finish lines and you're set. GL, won't get any easier after that, many nasty ones there if you aim for gold.
EDIT: oh and weakpoint, you don't have to use all the pieces, if they distracted you.

move your mouse to the upper right corner and volume sliders appear.

Got the same problem at first. You've got to make at least one official time / solve officialy puzzle etc. so it saves ur record on the server.

that's the first and easiest challenge there is! is your IQ below 75? just build a line between the two like this:
(don't know how many there are, used weakpoint's number) Well haven't yet raced all, so maybe I have hope
