Where I come from you need to do a course which is 10 years long on the university to become a lawyer, yeah.... 10 years... now that's educated.

All you need to become a lawyer is one years study academically and a more vocational course. The US and German systems are stupid. A lawyer doesn't need to know 10 years worth of legal information or have an undergrad degree before he can do an LLB or Juris Doctor.
I spent 3 years in law school, best years of my life! But firms also take on grads of other degrees, say history. Then they do a conversion course to law then the vocational: total 2 years. That's all you need.
I'm not becoming a lawyer though, gotta pay another £10k to do the LPC in the UK and I cant afford it. Maybe in the future.

No doubt. The only thing worse than lawyers, are journalists. haha. jk
My business lawyer kicks ass. Just dont get into family law or insurance. Two of my buddies almost gave up being laywers becasue they could deal with what they were doing anymore.
