its also on a LiveCD if you want to try it out without installing anything. Its interesting, the usefulness is questionable.

yeah its questionable , so why we need it in Vista Rolling Eyes i mean the Aero Desktop , it slows down your comp by 10 - 15% and when you turn it off Vista looks like XP but with DX10 Laughing ..

anyway the funny thing about this Aero is that it runs faster on 2 core processors , eating up the one core just for Aero Laughing

Some of the features found in Beryl are VERY useful.. You see, the effect on the spinning cube may look pretty but it pulls away from the fact that the cube moves between multiple desktops, which is in fact the true functionality that helps productivity (the prettiness does lend to this functionality working far more effectively..).. Although this has been in linux long before it was GL'ed..

Still, some of the app switching plugins really do help, I find the "scale" plugin for beryl to be a must.. its simply fantastic!



The video above kind of shows how scale works, however its far more effective as a simple window switcher Smile
