You've never played Paint Ball have you Mark?
I just had a face mask on when I was hit in the forehead. I had a lump the size of a goldball there when I went home.
I was hit in the neck once too. That broke the skin. So yeah a head shot can knock someone off their feet. Especially in the summer where the balls are softer.

Must have been a pussy is all. I've been paintballing loads, my dad even has a custom paintball gun and the only people i've ever seen get dropped by a paintball are the idiot kids who think it's some computer game. Even then, they're always younger then 16.
I usually only wear a balaclava when I go and i've been hit almost point blank in the back of the head by some dipshit on my team who couldn't aim properly and although it really hurt it was nowhere near enough to knock me off my feet. All the soft flesh of your face is covered by the mask so you don't have to worry about that.
It is really funny though when some kid is hopping around thinking he's playing CS only to get shot loads of times and run off crying.
