Has anyone tried this game with a 8800 nvidia card ? Cuz i fear that this game is powered with the same 3d engine of "Splinter Cell Double Agent" and today, nobody can run this game with high shaders on 8800 card (u get some flashing rainobow textures everywhere even with the latest drivers 97.44) :

Nvidia has really dropped the ball with the 8800. I bought one but between no Vista drivers (and things like "Vista Essential" written on the box) and the lousy game support (over a month for a driver that worked with Splinter cell) I am beginning to get annoyed. Now I hear that R6 has the same problem. Come on Nvidia!! £450.00 for a graphics card that won't play brand new games? WTF?

Runs quite bad for me, can only get it running at 800x600 with Shadows on "Low", and other stuff either medium or just off completely (system is a 7600 GT, 6400 core 2 duo, 1gb ddr). Quite disappointing having to run it that low, but seems a decent game so gonna play anyway Smile

@ flib

your rig should run the game just fine,it can't be THAT demanding, something fucks up

maybe you should update all your drivers, starting with your graphix card and chipset drvs
also make sure you haven't done anything strange in your graphix card settings, like forcing 8x AA or 16AF , lol

or maybe you should wait for the upcoming patch to see if it helps, the developers have admitted the game is buggy, then you can really njoy the game

btw,you prolly are no n00b and these suggestions aren't anything new for you but
i personally never play games that don't run flawlessly on my comp, it IS disappointing ...

Hmmm,

Very weird for me. When I launch the game I get disk activity for like 30 seconds or so and then nothing. In the event viewer i see the R6Game_Vegas.exe running and then it just disappears. I get no errors of any type.

I am using YASU 1.4 and DT 4.08HE. All Emulations on or off make no difference.

I have tried 2 versions of YASU, the unl-yasu1.4 version that is packaged with the UNLEASHED version and another 1.4 I grabbed from the net. Both appear to be exactly the same.

Anyone else see this? I do not find any log files in the R6V directory that would point me in the right directions.

My specs:

Dual Core 3.0GHz
4 GB Ram
256MB Nvidia 7800 GT (Using Forceware 93.71 Drivers)
250 GB SATA Drive
NEC DL DVD Drive

I too am unable to start the game. I am running off a fresh format, no blindwrite or anything. I have tried using the YASU included as well as downloading YASU 1.04. I am using Daemon Tools 4.08HE with the newest STDP. I have tried starting the game from the shortcut as well as the launcher exe and the game exe which bypasses the updater. All attempts have the same result :
Please insert the original disc instead of a backup (1000).

Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=copy&c=1000 for further, more detailed information.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

go to start->run->regedit->hkey_local_machine->system->mounted_devices

.find in here your daemon tools virtual drive(for me its \dosdevices\E: ) and rename it to

\dosdevices\E.h:

you can put any letter not only the "h"

.run the game without any loader

.have fun using old trick

p.s With me i have to do that on EVERY reboot because it makes another e: seperate from my e.h: i made , so i have to delete the e.h and rename the e: again.

@ offycakes

What image are you using (does it have correct dpm?)

Have you enabled RMPS emulation ?

Your message shows that blacklisting isn't the problem in your case, just the image ...

does this happen to anyone else?

1st time i start the game after installing it went perfectly... activated yasu, clicked the exe etc. and i played for an hour or so.

now everytime i try to start it i literally have to force it by clicking activating/deactivating yasu, remount the image etc. because it keeps crashing during start up. after about 5-6 tries it finally goes into the game. O.o
