The weird thing is, many people have gotten this game to work. I've tried everything. Defrag, Bart's hard drive test, unplugging my physical CDROM Drive, alcohol mounting, dtools mounting with all options. Starfuck..... even a batch file that boggs down your CPU which the guy who wrote it wrote it specifically for this game and said he got 6 others to get it working. I don't get it.
I've even changed my device name in dtools. I'm out of ideas here. I've rebooted at least 20 times and have pushed that retry button at least 120. I'm a huge OFP/Resistance fan and I'd love to play this game. Does anyone have any other options that haven't already been mentioned?
CPU: Athlon 64 3200+
Video: ATI Radeon X850
RAM: 1GB PC3200
Default install directory.
Latest dtools, latest alcohol, latest pr0tstop, latest everything.

ahhhaha good one. reminded me of a PC platformer game called Prehistoric - there was this caveman guy runnin' around and beatin' the shit out of dinosaurs and apes or something. each wasted dino added you some points and every 500 or 1000 points gave you an additional life. And those mobs had predefined specific spawn points and if you stood near one and kept "Space" pressed, your char would be mashing the ground constantly with his club thus killing everything that approaches. So before goin' to sleep you put somehing heavy on "space" and in the morning you have several dozen lives to finish the game*.
* - yeah, those were the times (beginning of the 90s) before cheating software appeared
sorry for the long story, just felt nostalgic )

I emailed Bohemia just now:
I'd like to express my displeasure with Bohemia.
So the game was released in Czech but no where else which brings me to the conclusion that the game isn't really finished. It sounds like the Czech citizens are responsible for your beta testing so that you can release a more stable version for EU/US because you know the consumers in the west won't tolerate BULLSHIT.
Regarding your copy protection on Armed Assault, it's tightening my jaws right now. I want to play the game now. If it's finished, which apparently it is, the entire world should be able to enjoy your product right now. Not some small country in the middle of no where. Yes, I want to pirate your game. I admit it. But I've bought every Bohemia game for the past 4 years and I am EXTREMELY upset that you put THIS MUCH copy protection in a game that is not meant for the masses - but for a small portion of hardcore gamers who plan to buy your product anyway and support you.
I would like to see a patch for the Czech version that removes the ridiculous copy protection from the game or I'm going to advise that nobody buy your product and support Bohemia and instead pirate the crap out of it because you're totally stonewalling people in the real countries who care about the game and want to play it now as opposed to later when the game has gone gold which means IT'S DONE.

Yes that is right, YOUR country is the ONLY real country on the planet and the rest of them are fake. Citizens of YOUR country are the only real people, the rest are just robots.
You have to be American right? Only an American can have such a huge ego and know so little about the world.

Sometimes I wish the French would not have helped the Americans back in 1812...who knows, maybe USA would have been USB (United States of Britain) Rule Britania, Britania Rules the Seas...

What button is your cursor on when you have the enter button held down? If I do that on the desktop shortcut I get numerous instances of the game trying to open at once.
BF3 = Stompya

(Average) Americans are just dumb (and fat), that's it.
The good news is that the dumber and the fatter, the shorter you live.
Anyway, anyone knows how to prevent Arma from connecting over Internet and checking your key when you just want to play LAN/Hamachi game.

looks great! a nice improvement over OFP, yet still keeping the OFP feel and the great editor. The real money is in the multiplayer, which was broken in OFP. How is that?
