Well so you can give copies to others? Smile I'd like to give this game to maybe 1-2 more people but have to tell them to use the raw CD1 ISO UNTIL THE CRACK ARRIVES. Strange that I cannot run the game after meticulously burning CD1 at 2x using latest Alcohol on my LiteOn 48x-12x-48x burner. Hmmm.. No biggie.. Crack inbound I hear.

This release seems fine to me. But how long do you think we have to wait for the cracked version?

It has something to do with SP2. Your windows version is probably a downloaded one that has SP2 integrated. It doesn't allow DirectX 9c to be installed. It says it installs it in a split second but it doesn't. Unfortunately, you should reformat and install a pre SP2 Windows version and update it through Windows Update. Of course, you need to change the key before you do Wink . You might as well reformat anyways, because there are a lot more games coming which use DX9.0c and above. Either that or Sims 2 won't work for you.
Cheers.

I have found out that the new CATALYST drivers screw up the game, try using the older drivers instead, for instance catalyst 4.1

How does it screw it up? because I have 4.9 installed and my computer just seems to totally shut down randomly during play...

I haven't noticed that. Mine is the latest Cats and it runs fine. Well I only played it for about an hour, but I had no probs.. seemed to work fine for me using DTools.. I have Alcohol, but don't have any drives setup on it, so it's strictly using Dtools..

Just waiting on crack like everyone else..

can't get this to work without directx 9.0c screwing my system up

i currently have 9.0b installed and have tried installing 9.0c off the cd and from the web but when i re-boot i can't access the internet cos i have an invalid ip (169.xx.xx.xx instead of 82.xx.xx.xx) and also can't open the control panel or my computer

once i restore my system to the previous settings everything works ok again

If you can get DX 9.0c installed with SP2 in. That's great. I'm talking about installing a cracked windows version that came out a while ago that had SP2 integrated into it already. If you can't get Direct x9.0c installed you can't play this. That's all I'm saying.

Isnt there another way? Sad
