Hi,
I just got the dreadfull 3 rings of death...
But I still have a question,
can this be anyway connected to the fact I hacked my 360?

If what you say is true and it was hacked (firmware), then go to Xbox-scene and there is a fix to bring you back to the original version.. Provided you know what you are doing and didn't have the work outsourced to a different person, then you'd be fuked.
It's a stalemate right now for microsoft and pirates over the 360.

what version of the firmware did you have on your xbox?
visit xbox-scene and read up on it; it has to deal with the firmware being outdated on a ms28 samsung. read up on it, flash it back to normal and get the right firmware and you should be fine.

My FW ver is 3.3, on sammy drive ( don't know if it's ms25/28 ), however,
on October 31st, AFTER updating the dash, everything was fine.
Yesterday, during gameplay I had a freeze. I thought " only a freeze ", but than, after restarting I got these 3 red lights.
I should mention I tried everything, from hooking every thing off and on, deattaching the HD - nada. my 7 month old 360 is dead.

Ahh.. that doesn't sound good :\
I would suggest checking xbox-scene people have found ways to fix some issues.. however, this doesn't sound like its related to the update, so its something slightly more serious.. You could always try taking it back to the store you bought it from?

you might have got one with badly applied thermal paste, being in a hot country probably just killed it off quicker than normal. bit of a bummer that it decided to kick to bucket before xmas, just as all the good games are coming out.

Lastrite. It's dishonest but if you're in the UK. Go to Argos buy a new machine. Pop the old one in the box and take it back and get your money back.

Nah Argos staff wouldn't know one of their products if it bit them on the arse.
Back in the day when I chipped mobile phones. After about 400 quids worth of calls it would be blocked, I'd remove the chip and return the phone and get it swapped.

Mine has the same month production date as yours and I have the same problem as you. I went out and bought a new core system as I already have all the premium accesories.
I ran the update on the 31st and played COD3 for several hours after that. 2 days later I fired up Gears and it locked up on me and wasn't booting correctly. Now it won't even boot. I get the 3 red lights of death instantly. I checked out the error codes on google. The 360 will give you error codes, if you hold down the "sync" button for the wireless controller & press the eject button at the same time. Read on google how to do this. Type in 360 error codes.
My error codes consist of:
GPU Error & Memory Error.
It was working fine until I updated. So I blame the update.

So I got my 360 a week ago "fixed". The guy at the store told me he did something to the ventilation system or whatever. anyway, it worked fine for a week, and today, again I got the 3 rings of death!
It makes me crazy!!!!
Does anyone here thinks it's due to the firmware hack? or is it the device itself ( I bought it at March)?
Man, I think I'll just get the ps3.
