Having completed it on casual and hardcore in singleplayer as well as in coop and now doing coop on insane i have to say that this game kicks some serious ass. Sure it's not genre-defining or genre-changing but if you ask me it's genre-perfection.
It's bugfree, beautiful, gory as hell and the action is non-stop. I also like the fact that they dont introduce the setting at all, you just get trown into it. Not alot of games could get away with that but GoW does it remarkably well.
And of course it has it problems, you complete the game on casual the first time in around 6-8 hours and im sure you could run it through in 3-4 hours by the time you are used to the game. But the coop is what keeps the game alive for me.
Best xbox360 game to date by far and if i was to rate it i would give it a 9.5/10. Some games you play for the longetivity, some of it is boring but most of it rocks. However GoW for me is a couple of hours of perfection.

could be best pc game so far if it will be on pc someday at all,but it won't happen not with m$
it will definitely have some issues as any pc games this days,mainly perfomance wise

Being a third person shooter is is well suited to a console though.
What I would really like is an RPG with Gear of War style graphics. It seems possible considering how huge some of the areas are in GoW and how there doesn't even seem to be any loading at all (although there is).

ok back on topic for a sec and here's my 2pence worth; it'll proly be like halo, wait until hte sequel is out for the console then release the original for pc. i think bill 'cash' gates likes it this way to eek every last pound out of the console version before releasing it on windows.

Best PC game so far... dude. Its to short and have to gay weapons to be the ultimate PC game.

There will always be a difference of opinion, let AnimalMother cheer for GOW a little he's obviously enjoying the game, we all know how it is when things really 'click' into place with a game and you enjoy it immensely, you enjoy it so much that no matter what kind of logical arguments anyone might have you will not listen to it, the experience can even top that of sex in rare cases.

Deelix, loooooooooool, you must be the only person in the world not liking GoW. It's not shorter than any regular game nowadays. Hardcore difficulty takes 10-15 hours to play through.
You don't need 50 buttons for a game man (on a regular PC game you use fewer than what is on the 360 pad). GoW ain't a goddamn FPS, noob
In addition to the brilliant coop mode, regular deathmatch is a blast as well. 4v4 team deathmatch where you take cover and cover your teamies as they advance. It doesn't sound much on paper, but it's the most fun multiplayer game I have played in ages. |

its a good game.. but its pure console.. which has its place.. but i prefer deeper games..
I would rather play a game like OFP

1. Really different games to compare it with. Oblivion is made to be a long game with alot of freedom and a chance to explore, GoW is an extremely linear actionshooter. HL2 is a thriller/fps, comparable but not really.
2. GoW / generic pc-shooter
right-stick for view / mouse
left-stick for movement / wasd
click right-stick zoom / mousebutton-4
left trigger for aim / right mousebutton
right trigger for fire / left mousebutton
left sec trigger for squad overview / dunno, tab maybe
right sec trigger for reload / R-button
Y-button look at object of interest / dunno, F1 maybe
X-button use / E-button
B-button melee-attack / mousebutton-3
A-button use cover etc / Q-button
fourway D-pad switch between weapons / button 1-4
So that's 15 buttons (18 if you count the movement as 4, which wasd is). Dont really need more
3. Of course you can strafe. Oh and by the way i used to hate fps' or any games that needed aiming on platforms but now i think they are great

MM Gears of war is just a well done rollocoster ride...way to short, very repeditive and stacked full of the mini-game level type afairs, played it, finished it then put it back in it's box.
Dont get me wrong the graphic's are impressive especailly in HD , this game is like paris hilton pretty to look at and nice to play with for a few hours but it soon gets very boring and old and needs to go back in it's box.

Most games enables you to set the sensitivity. But people who have a 360 might as well get used to the gamepad, as there is no way in hell that thing will work online. |
