There is really nothing good anymore coming out.
Don't count Crisis and Stalker but for the rest NOTHING
Are PC releases death or what .
My brother bought an Xbox 360 with hacked firmware . And it's great .
Nice games . ( Gears of war , call of duty 3 , ...)
And Gears of war is awsone . a must play .
6 months ago i bought a Geforce 7800 GTX , but this really the last card that i buy .
why bother buying expensive cards if there are 2 good games coming in a year .
next thing i buy is an Xbox 360 for sure .

Lots of those are coming out on the 360 too.
Seems alot of the PC exclusive games are strategy. Which pisses me off. I love strategy games and if it wasn't for those it would be so easy to give up on the PC and migrate almost all my game time to the consoles.
As it is I have to try and keep my PC up to date just so I can play the odd gem of a strategy game that comes out for it. Consoles are so far behind in this regard it's not even funny. Sure, they tried with BFME2, but compared to the PC version it's no contest.

I didn't see these ones mentioned, they're gonna be great I am sure:
Stranglehold
Haze
Clive Barker's Jericho
Assassin's Creed
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Basically any RTS/FPS are no good on consoles.

the good PC games are in the past. I'm very pesimistic about the future ones... i mean i've got the feeling that every good idea is already utilised.. There is nothing new, all it's the same. The same FPS, the same RTS- only defference are the fancy visuals... I don't know what must happen for a original game conception to be born. (only thinking about Spore maybe)
Overall ..sad story...

Well I can tell from your previous posts you're biased against consoles anyway, so this post is probably pointless. But you're wrong about all FPS's being no good on consoles, product sales and reviews already prove that.

Product sales and reviews can (in a lot of cases) be written off as excellent marketing or biased reviewers which I'm sad to say occurs more often than most, look at Oblivion for example and it's one of the top sellers on the 360, yes I know Halo 2 and Gears of War outsell it, having only played Halo 2 and Oblivion I can only say that it's great marketing + hype and neither of those two are 'classics' as far as I'm concerned.

Ok Epsilon, so if you can't judge a game by it's success, then how can you judge it?
I could say that all FPS's on the PC are overhyped shit, and according to you theres no way to prove otherwise. Don't give me that crap please. Disliking a game is one thing, it's an opinion after all. But discounting a whole genre as 'no good' despite it's successes is just ignorance.
Besides, who was talking about console FPS's being classics? I was just disputing the claim that all of them are crap.

Don't forget Gears of War on PC as well as any other good console hit.
The market is now mixed. There is no PC vs Console anymore as the games in between them are blurred.
If we take for example the PS3; There are currently 19 games within the Launch Guide over at IGN.
Out of the 19 games, 6 games are currently exclusive to PS3:
Genjii: Scored 6/10
Gundam: Scored 3.2/10
Resistance: Scored 9.1/10
Ridge Racer 7: Scored 8.2/10
Untold Legends: Scored 6.5/10
and Full Auto 2 with no Score yet.
Out of the 6games 2 scored decently so it's safe to say that the PS3 has 2 good exclusive games.
In other words, 90% of the games released on the PS3 are already available on multiple platforms.
Same shit goes with PC and Xbox360. The ratio is a bit different with the Wii because of the controller as well as its target audience.
So all of these stats to clearly demonstrate that it is futile to try and keep on fighting the PC vs Console war as it is a non existent war.
Sony Fanboy: Assassin's Creed ownzor!
360 Fanboy: Assassin's Creed ownzor!
PC Fanboy: Assassin's Creed ownzor!
Nintendo Fanboy: We got Zelda.
Stop fighting for nothing and unite.
No PC scene is dying and no console scene as well. They are both equally stronger than ever.
At our studio, games developed on multiple platform are all centralized and there's no war in between developers. Why can't gamers do the same?
There are so many good games coming on both PC and Consoles we are spoiled for years on end.

For lots of games that come out on both the PC and consoles it's obvious they were developed with the console in mind and the PC just got a lackluster port. Thats the problem Malveous.
As for Gears of War, if it ever does come out on PC expect it to be well after it's sell by date. PC users are missing out if they don't play it now, when it's still technically impressive.

I'm not disputing the fact that games like "Gears of War" are successful games for people who publishes them, I'm talking about what fans of any particular genre thinks.
In my opinion reviews should only be used as an indication of what one guy thinks about a game, sure you can judge games on how much money they make for the publicist, but most fans of any particular genre know of games which are widely considered to be classics and not just because they made a lot of money. Fallout 2 for instance never made a lot of money for Interplay but is by most fans of games in the RPG genre considered classic.

does hacked firmware on 360 allow to play downloaded games?
I stick with pc for 3 reasons:
1. All games are 'free'.
2. fps with controller is a joke.
3. hi resoluitions.
X6800 Core Duo wasted within a shite DFI 975x/g,
2GB OCZ PC8000 XTC XE, X1900 Crossfire(have my own powerstation), Audigy 2, Z680 5.1

I think that GameRankings can be a good guide as to which games are worth your time and which arn't. For example, Gears of War and that new Zelda game have got fantastic scores all round. It's fairly easy to assume they are good games.

AnimalMother, hey there.
Alot of people do tend to have at least one PC and one console and they distribute their games depending on their taste and their availability. Also, I do agree that Ports aren't the best yet when well adapted they do make good games. For example, Fable Lost Chapter was an amazing game and I would not play it on Xbox.
It is also good to note that a minority of PC games do shadow the good ones. There were good games, there are good games and there will be good games on PC and on Console. It is also important to note that there will be shitty games on PC and console.
Finally, the impressiveness of a game's technicality is much of a factor; I still play Ultima Online, Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros and many other old games. For an other example, I can't wait for Jade Empire although it was released a while ago on Xbox.
Anyways, my point is that there is no war whatsoever and nobody is dying.

Where are the good games for the PC? Where are the good games for any system or console? It's all overly commercialized shit these days.
Best game in the last few years was Resident Evil 4 for the freakin' GameCube of all systems. It's the most fun/satisfying game to shoot things in since Doom.
So many (actually, pretty much all) game developers are copping out these days with lazy ragdoll implementation. It's a totally unsatisfying immersion breaker. When I shoot someone, I want a semi-realistic reaction in the animation/death. I don't care if it's hand animated, motion captured, or (well implemented) ragdoll (have yet to see it well implemented, but it might happen eventually. maybe if it's properly combined with a decent animation system). Most games, there is NO animation/reaction to non-fatal wounds. Only when a character's life equals zero they suddenly die and flop to the ground. Give me a jolt, jerk, stumble, or limb/location-specific animated reaction to each individual wound. Then give me a DEATH animation when a character dies. Ragdoll should only kick in when there's an instantly-fatal wound or hit to the central nervous system.
In RE4 what you shoot reacts accordingly, and it makes it enjoyable. Everything is painstakingly animated to react to what you do to it. Anyway, I guess I can't stress animation enough.
Gears of War? MEH! Crap ragdoll. Gimmicky gameplay.
Anyway, I guess this mostly applies to FPS/TPS action games, but games in general need more visual detail. Animation is a big part of that. Games need more "visceralness", if you will.

Just from this part of your post I can tell you haven't played Gears of War. It has death animations combined with properly weighted ragdoll. It's about as viceral as it gets.

I've seen videos of it, and the ragdoll looks bad. Not as bad as it has looked in the past, but it still looks awkward and stupid.
Edit: And I don't see any sort of reaction to non-fatal shots. Not even high powered sniper shots.

Just try it. Most of the time they get at least knocked to their knees by sniper shots. Some of the bigger guys can walk through machinegun fire, but the weaker 'grubs' get knocked around a fair bit.
Of course this doesn't apply in multiplayer.

And as far as PC vs consoles go...
Sony - Milked the PS2 for far too long just because they could. People are stupid and kept buying them at ridiculous prices. Very complacent with their completely loyal lapdog fans. They waited in line for days to pay 600 dollars for what is essentially a gaudy Blu-ray player. They should have used that 600 dollars to buy a .38 special and one bullet. Then, they should have given the change to a homeless person before shooting themselves in the face. Massive, evil, Japanese corporation. All other products are overpriced/lackluster. Powerful but possibly overly complex hardware at a fucking absurd price.
Microsoft - Yeah, yeah. It's popular to defend Microsoft these days. And they're making pretty decent OSe, but only a halfwit would not admit that their business practices have at some point been on the shady side. Massive, evil, American corporation. Decent products. Decent console at a decent price.
Nintendo - WiiTF? They had a GREAT iidea with the whole motion sensor controller thing (I refuse to say "wiimote"). Unfortunately... Retardedly simplistic execution. Weak hardware. Cheap toy. Only in business because of Gameboy/Pokemon.
Resident Evil 5 probably won't even be enough to convince me to ever buy another console. Sold all of my old ones and haven't regretted it. The day PC gaming dies is the day I stop playing games.
