randomly walls, ground, road, vehicles would be textured with the same texture, but a tiny fraction of it's original resolution, for no reason
ground suddenly turned into a blur, trees into untextured shaded polygons and arms into something that resembled a plastic soldier (not a videocard issue as others have reported same)

also, starforce made it's presence known with bi-hourly BSOD
uninstalled the game and starforce and once again i have a stable system
haven't tried to burn anything yet

i'll just wait for an update

i can't comment on the game itself
the technical difficulties were too glaring to enjoy the thing at all
but i was very disappointed in how little there were settings for detail level adjustment
there were several knobs one could turn with ofp to customize the game to their own preferance of detail/performance
the config file had a setting for the terrain grid size, but changing it didn't do a thing
so the terrain is actually LESS detailed than in ofp
i really liked the 'very high' terrain detail in ofp as it actually had some bumps in the ground you could take cover behind


As I said, a clean install of xp will work every time, no retries, just as a normal game. Don´t know your setup, but on a AMD 64 3500 7900GT 256 MB everything runs smooth on very high settings and in widescreen it looks fuckin awesome. I converted the game in English and in the advanced tab you have lots of settings to play around with. Looks way better than opf!

Для тех у кого трудности с запуском !

1. что нужно сделать это само собой убедиться что сидюки у вас вырублены либо программно с помощью проги virtualdrive или же физически ( выдергивание всего что торчит из вашего сидирома )

2. В daemon tools у вас должно быть два виртуальных диска , позже обьясню для чего !

Итак заходим в папочку ArmA находим там файлик " protect " не тот который с ключиком а подписаный как драйвер устройства ! далее удаляем его в корзину ( корзину не вкоем случае неочищаем файлик еще нужен будет ) монтируем образ в первый виртуальный диск попутно убрав всю эмуляцию в daemon tools . Пробуем запускать ......... естестно игруха незавелась !! ну а теперь самое главное , идем в корзину правой кнопкой на файлике " восстановить " тобишь возвращаем его на место , далее монтируем образ в во второй виртуальный диск ( предварительно убрав с первого ) , врубаем всю эмуляцию в daemon , запускаем игру , играем .

Ну и еще советик по настройке графики: восновном лагает как я заметил из за слишком большой дистанции прорисовке установленой по дефолту , просто напросто поставте ее на минимум до 500-600 больше и ненадо ! ну левые настройки в дополнительных можете смело на максимум ставить ( с шейдерами только поакуратнее ) ну а с правыми настройками уже подбирайте под себя вот видео которое я заснял на максимуме с прорисовкой 500 ПОСМОТРЕТЬ для просмотра вам скорее всего понадобится новая версия fraps ( тамже найдете и его )

method that worked for me 7/10 times i tryed , MSI 875p NEo motherboard..

1.install game
2.click shortcut in desktop to install starforce drivers and restart
3.download daemon tools 4.08he
4.install daemon and put all emulations off
5.install Starfuck v0.83Beta
6.run starfuck choose starforce 3.4.49.X
7.click patch blacklist
8.click CDs Deaktivieren at the right low corner of the program
9.run the game from desktop short cut if you keep getting errors try also mount dismound image

Just because something works for you, doesn't mean it will for everyone. I actually tried your "100% guaranteed!1111" method (hey, needed a format anyway!) and it did not work. The "Adobe Method", however, did Very Happy

damn this is like a beta version, playing the mission and trucks stop for no aparent reason n just sit in the road lol, next thing truck infront decides to do a 3 point turn n sit there for couple mins hehe , also textures popping in n out, was opf like this before the patches coz i was a late joiner on opf it was mostly smooth when i played that.

Yer Gazc156 , OFP in its very early days was extremely buggy. Is whole reason they released so many patches.

This is probably why we in the UK have to wait until Jan for the game. Have a funny feeling that it will come with a patch or two already implemented into the game.

Couple of mates of mine have tried it and they both were absoloutely gobsmacked how good it looks.

Gonna be one Hell of a Game when they iron out the bugs. This 100+ Player online sounds extremely interesting indeed Razz

well, it wasnt only the bugs, it was also the copy-protection that fucked up many of the "cracked" patches, making the game unenjoyable with some cracked updates.
After the bugs where mostly gone i bought it anyways, but i hope it ll get cracked, so i can check it out before buying it. German release seems to be in a week according to an online shop i get a weekly newsletter from... ...i also hope that the german version wont be censored like fuck, as they always do

OpF was buggy but I can't say it ever got in the way of my enjoyment... in fact I'm hard pressed to remember any of the bugs.

Has anyone else experienced this error message? I get this message on the rare occasion that I pass through the Starforce check...
"Unable to load the dynamic link library file: OPENAL32.DLL. Contact product technical support."
I've downloaded the newest version of openal32, placed copies in the windows/system32 directory and in the bohemia interactive/arma directory... Sad

for me it was mainly reduced frame-rate/choppiness after 15-30 minutes and stuff like non-working ai / mission-objectives and not being able to shoot. But only with some of the cracks/patches. When i bought it, all of that went away.

If the game is only half as good as i expect it to be, it ll be awesome. And judging from the screenies i dont have any doubts that it ll deliver everything and some more

One other thing I noticed was that I sometimes couldn't reload. Then all of a sudden it worked again...

I don't see this as pirating, I see this as beta-testing. I'll sure as hell buy the game when it's released here, but they better fix all bugs and such 'till then.

try this as it definitely seems to work more often on my rig.
try to start game. if it doesnt work then change compatibilty mode by right clicking and properties on the shortcut. just cycle between all the different compatibility modes. works for me on at least every 3rd attempt this way. then again could just be luck on my rig but hopefully will help someone else.

For information.

Creator of CZECH "AClone" create BAD image. Correct DPM is bad. Czech version contain SF version 4.50.06.16.

Run of game depends on more aspect. Important is HW configuration.
I tested more "home made" method to run this AClone. Any method she was not successful.

Then i create own AClone from my original. Whit another method of create DPM datametri.
Burn on DVD in latest vesion of AClone with SecuRom method in 4x burn speed.
DVD work fine ONLY on EXTERNAL DVD DRIVER (connect trough USB).

So that, we muss wait on GERMAN release, protected with SecuRom, wait for crack and test this cracked EXE file on czech version.
