slmgr.vbs -dli says that i have 43192 to activate. I guess i it worked. Because they are 29.9944444 days.

When i restarted my pc ii said that i have 43195min so the timer each timer each time resets.

2099 trick definitely works. I have also the time.windows.com function on.

The constant drive thrashing in Vista is just ridiculous. It's really annoying tbh.

First I tried Vista 64-bit Ultimate and now 32-bit Vista Ultimate , both do the same bloody thing, its doing my head in. I can hear XP x64 calling me back.

In certain instances, sure Vista performs OK, the rest of the time I'm missing x64 which dominates Vista performance-wise.

Vista may have all the latest bells and whistles, but at this performance price Microsoft are just taking the piss.

Gigabyte 965P-DQ6
Intel Core 2 Duo 6400
2 GB GEiL DDR2 800MHz
1 x 10k SATA Raptor
2 x 320 GB SATA Barracudas
BFG 7900 GT OC
Tagan 580W PSU
Thermaltake Tai Chi Chasis

I'll wait until Nvidia release some decent drivers (probably won't until Janurary 30th) and see how it goes. Otherwise Vista can just remain a backed up cloned image until Microsoft gets their act together.

"Another hidden surprise came from Microsoft: their hot new product, operating system Windows Vista, is not compatible with new media player Microsoft Zune. And that’s quite an issue. Buried in the Zune website, Microsoft admits that the player is not compatible with Vista and gives no information as to when it will introduce a patch or update enabling the player to do so. Instead, users are asked to “check back soon for updates” (er, isn’t recommending to “downgrade” your operating system here?). Microsoft is set to launch Vista for business customers later this month, although a spokesman for Microsoft told, however, that a new “Zune client” or patch to make Vista compatible with the MP3 player will be released at the end of January to coincide with the consumer launch of the Vista operating system.

Zune is currently only available in the US and went on sale for USD 249.99 at almost 30,000 shops across the United States on Wednesday. The digital music player comes in just one 30GB model and is available in three colours: black, white and brown. A European launch is expected some time next year. The player which offers wireless connectivity as probably the most interesting feature has another problem then. May be they just wanted to test it before the world’s launch. Kind a big betatest on 300 million people… "

thats the future OF VISTA
don`t know what zune is go here

If you have anything Overclocked try clocking normal speeds...
Ive noticed on some Computer hard ware they work different in other windows...
Had this problem with XP going to Win2003...
Win2003 was extremely better than XP, but didnt like Overclocked GFX card... Sad

Having an overclocked component is not the problem, it's Vista poor system management at work.

Nothing is overclocked other than the BFG - which is designed to run at higher clock rates.

I appreciate the offer to help, but the irratitating problem I am experiencing has nothing whatsoever to do with my 7900. Althought, there is an minute possibility of memory leaking / poor coding from Nvidia's crap-tastic RC2 video drivers, but I just think it's down to the way Vista is managing physical memory / paging file resources.

It's early days so I'm not going to crap all over Vista, but it's looking less and less like the OS replacement I was hoping for.

Vista isn't worth it at the moment, maybe next year. It really needs better drivers (of course), and i think some patches.. there are some seriously sluggish feel from time to time. My box isn't ancient, Vista rates it a 5.6... not sure what the latest gear gets.. so for now I'll blame it on driver support.

The highiest I've seen is 6.1, and that's with Core 2 Quad, 8800GTX, 4GB RAM and 10,000RPM Raptor HDD. Crazy machine, lol, but it's low, and that's intentional. MS is giving low scores so people would upgrade their PCs from time to time.

Is it only me, or Vista is faster than XP, after I installed Vista it just seemed like my computer was 10 times faster even with all that effects enabled.

I have a Pinnacle PCTV Analog TVcard, and a Sound Blaster Live!, already searched for both of the drivers in soundblaster.com pinnaclesys.com and windowsupdate.microsoft.com

any chance there is a way to get at least my old soundblaster to work!?, if the TVcard doesn't work it's fine by me, but I need the sound working :\

Ok... i have activated my WinVista Bill Gates release with Reebsaw crack and applied water marker patch... i know that Microsoft said that will block activation of the pirated releases so i install Acronis True Image 10 and made a backup of my installation already activated so i don't have to active anymore... maybe this is a good option at this moment without a real crack... what the masters of this great forum says...

PS - Sorry about my English... is not so poor... Smile

Anyone to comment on 2099? My installation got 29 days and I got scared and activated with B2 key. I read now that 29 days is fine and it doesn't go below that. Anyone to comment on that? It has to be someone that has run Vista for more than 48hrs total. I'm thinking, if every restart resets the clock, perhaps an automated task can be made to restart Vista every 23:55 mins so it can't lower the days.

WalkerBoh, did you notice how long between resets? I'm thinking more and more that if Vista is wake for more than 24hrs, it does days--; If it is restarted before passage of 24hrs, it resets the counter. It's strange...

well its like this have VIsta installed on a test machine and its running for 5 days 24/7 with the 2099 trick , when i check the counter its 25 days to activation , but when i restart the machine it automaticly returns to 29d59min , so the conclusion is your activation date is set with that trick to 129 years but the activation counter can only show 30 days , and when you reset your comp is resets those days shown that are in the poll of those 129 years
