welllllllllll i rented out the dvd, tried ripping it. for a start, its around 8 gigs, its huge as hell... havent been able to make a rip myself yet... still need to clear up another 2 gigs before i can start
anyway, on to the good stuff... for a start, i had trouble getting the thing off the dvd... every other dvd ive ever tried to rip, had no problems, but this one just didnt wanna come... finally had to download a new program just to rip it, so obviously it had some newer kind of protection on it (habitual upgraders who have the latest ripping crap probably didnt notice if they tried to rip it...)
second, heres what i found next, when i tried opening vts_01_6 (ONLY this file, others were fine), i got a WHOLE load of these errors popping up:
[!] MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at
byte position 18411538, from 269460783 to 269547183. This may indicate an
improper join.
[!] MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at
byte position 38127634, from 271231983 to 271314783. This may indicate an
improper join.
[!] MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at
byte position 56229906, from 272794383 to 272880783. This may indicate an
improper join.
[!] MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at
byte position 90349586, from 276059583 to 276145983. This may indicate an
improper join.
[!] MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream 0 at
byte position 120334354, from 278745183 to 278831583. This may indicate an
improper join.
thats probably only about a 10th of them, it was heaps of them... i think the reason most noobie rippers screwed up, was because of this. i might have to manually check some frames and deleted them or something, while doing the rip.. will post back when im done... whenever that is
