It's not though. I want a quiet but capable PC that won't overheat. So it's very important particularly on a budget.

WHY do you think that? Just something you grab outta your ass ? Would be glad if you had some clues to why it would be both german and english.. Because this game is a no-go with star.force.(all the other versions)

i meant multilanguage, it's what ive read on other forums,whats with all the abuse though,do u have a a crap life or somert lol.

this sort of thing makes no sense if you analyse it.
a 2GHz AMD XP,AM2,X2,FX is faster than a 2GHz P4, but a 2GHz Core2Duo is the fastest of the lot.
1GB of RAM depends on latencies for its speed, depending on platform.
but the worst indicator is the gfx card memory. there are Geforce 5 series with 256MB RAM but they dont compare to say a 7800GTX 256mb.
etc,etc. rant over.
anyway the game wil run sweet here, on my crossfire powerstation.  |

Crossfire is junk tbh (Sometimes it works, renaming EXEs, corruption etc). I switched from 2 x 1950XT to an 8800GTX and I have to say even if it is one or two frames slower, it is way more compatible and for the first time the IQ is better on Nvidia. No more screwing around with CCC either which is a major bonus because it has to be the worst driver/controller ever made.
I don't doubt that the R600 will rock. But Im not sure of some claims that it will demolish the 8800GTX. I believe slightly better but you have to remember that the 8800GTX is basically 1900 Crossfire or 7900 GTX SLI on one card. That won't be that easy to demolish.
Regarding Armed Assault, we won't be seeing a clone of the Czech version is my guess. American developers seem to have dropped StarW**K but alot of Europeans still use it. I guess they dont really care that many people will NOT buy anything that has Starforce on it. I want a pirated copy now because I cant get a retail one, as soon as I can I will be buying it (as long as the UK/US release does not have SF on it)

You must be smoking crack. A single 8800gtx smokes the hell out of 2x x1950xtx running in Crossfire. How is that for price-performance-ratio, ATI-fanboys?  |

Actually, not so. If you look at the Anandtech scores Xfire beats the single 8800 GTX just about everywhere, albeit not by much in most cases. The reason being that Anand correctly tests at 2560 x 1600. These are the resolutions where Xfire and SLI come into their own. You don't need a dual card setup anymore to game up to about 1920 x 1200. His review emphasizes that for extreme resolutions, Xfire is still slightly better.

Even at those extreme resolutions, a single 8800gtx is very close to beating a crossfire solution. And if you look at SLI, well, you get where this is going. However you want to look at things, the 8800 owns performance- and price-wise.

it's absolutely normal nowadays for the latest generation of GPUs to be twice as fast as the last generation which makes SLI as well as Crossfire not very useful unless you have like... unlimited money to spend and absolutely have to play the latest games on your 30" screen at resolutions of 2560x2048.
but even for the average hardcore gamer it's not worth it at all, as everytime your current GPU can't handle the latest games at max details at 1280x1024 or something anymore, there's always the next generation of GPUs already out.
anyway, can't wait to get my hands on armed assault...just 2 weeks to go!
