You're right with that, but looking at the gameplay, the "unfinished" Sam and Max was still better than most whole games.

I'd probably say Company of Heroes. This year for me there hasn't really been that many games that I've thought of as "spectacular" except CoH. Others like Prey, Juarez, Condemned and W40k: Dark Crusade were very enjoyable though. Other games that I was hoping would be good kinda let me down a bit, such as Half-Life 2: Episode 1, which was great for what it was but I just found it far too short (was nice to have more of the story from the end of Half-Life 2 though).

I am going to hire this to see if I like it as much as the old games. Far too big for me to download.
I would say Oblivion made the biggest impact on me. Company of Heroes came close but it was VERY shortlived. I still havent finished Oblivion due to losing my savegames in format (I hate games that save onto drive C: by default!!)
However it should be noted I haven't played every game this year, and my most played are still Forgotten Hope & WW2ol.

german release date is 06.12.2006 europe/australia release should be 28.11.06
ATM game of the year is Medieval 2 in 2 weeks it will be Armed Assault.

#1 - Pro evolution soccer 6
(Again small changes here and there but still the best game out there for sheer gameplay
and replayability if you get all the chants kits bootpacks stadiums tweaked gameplay option file etc makes it even better this is simply gameplay genius yet again from konami)
#2 - Oblivion
(I think probably most people like me were totally sucked in for hours upon first playing the game and did'nt put the mouse down for a long time after but once you play through whats left?)
#3 - Company of heroes
(Is a great game with great atmosphere and gameplay however the single player campaign
is painfully short not even an axis campaign that and multiplayer issues make it lose the top spot again once completed whats left? a laggy buggy multiplayer mode that's what)
#4 - Hitman blood money
(Always liked the series and it's got better and better amounting to this great game again once completed whats left?)
#5 - Medieval2 total war
(It's a great game but surely it's just rome total war in medieval times with vamped graphics slightly disappointed with it but nethertheless a great game)
Not got double agent yet so should'nt comment i'm sure it's quality as the prequels have been.
As for all the others nothing really grabbed me everything seemed a bit samey or just rehashes or sequels mark of war i erxpected more of it's just the same as 40,000 with new units races etc total letdown really was expecting more half life 2 ep1 well to me hl2 is crap it's a fps on rails and (WHERES THE SNIPER RIFLE?)i did'nt even play through it all got bored.
HALF LIFE 2 The most overated game in history yawn.
Other than those 5 as usual emulators have been the most fun this year again still playing n64 snes neo geo capcom.

Double Agent.
Been a shit year for gaming. Seems that 90 % of the games that comes out are strategy or RPG, none of wich I'm a fan of.

I find Call of duty 2 realy a nice game. It was full of action, had nice graphix and very nice sound effects!! But was it released this year or at the end of 2005?
