2Ghz CPU, 512MB of RAM, 128MB video card is the minimum spec.

Recommended are:
3Ghz, 1GB RAM, 256MB video card

that's from the official bis forums.

I can't wait until the game is released so some of you guys can finally understand the difference between rendered images made by the marketing department and the harsh reality of in-game graphics, lol.

I didnt play OFP very much so heres my question.

How does the game handle view distances and people? As the screenshots show, some of the foliage and grass does not exist at far distances. Does this make it very easy to spot people at far distances?

ofp is pretty realistic, if enemies use greenish clothes they'll be hard to see even without grass. one of the hardest aspects of ofp was always to find the enemies, if there are woods around and stuff it's often pretty damn hard to find out where the shots are coming from

this sort of thing makes no sense if you analyse it.

a 2GHz AMD XP,AM2,X2,FX is faster than a 2GHz P4, but a 2GHz Core2Duo is the fastest of the lot.
1GB of RAM depends on latencies for its speed, depending on platform.

but the worst indicator is the gfx card memory. there are Geforce 5 series with 256MB RAM but they dont compare to say a 7800GTX 256mb.

etc,etc. rant over.
anyway the game wil run sweet here, on my crossfire powerstation.

What about a psu? how else will you power the thing?, and how about a case just to show off that is. A screen to look at and some speakers for that lovely sound card.

case is entirely unnecessary
my previous computer was practically just the components in a box
i always used a screwdriver to connect the power button pins to start it up
