A delightful little game. I've only had one session, an hour or so, but I remember playing it, or something similar to it anyway, a while back. At the moment it all seems a bit quaint but I've not progressed very far so I'll hold off judgment. Why do I feel as though I've played it all before but under a different name though?

I can't get positive income. I've build shitload of houses, I've got about 600 settlers but I still got -100 gp.
Scenarios are cool, I like the mini narrative and the whole atmosphere is excellent. I just wish there were more scenarios.

Ispep: Theres both anno 1602 and anno 1503, so its probably one of those two.
Clevesa: Dont go for lots of houses! Try to please your people instead, and make sure that the taxes are as high as possible but still in the dark green area of the tax slider. Also remember to keep an eye on their happyness, so that you can take out as much tax as possible

works fine here.
Select the warehouse you start with.
In the lower right corner you can see the name of the town.
Click there, remove the name, write BonanzaCreek (case-sensitive), and click enter.
I hate you.

I've built churches all around my inhabited area, all houses are
in range of a church.
Got all materials in stock.. plenty.. but still only 16 people upgraded their house..
maybe it has something to do with taxes aswell ?
i got all my taxes set to the max without getting em in the yellow..
gonna give that a try..

Try lowering taxes, I think that does the trick. Make sure you have the good stuff stocked as well, some alcohol for example will spearhead upgrades in my experience (although it could just be a coincidence, I've not really examined it closely).

Laggy for me too, particularly in the wide perspective. I'm not sure why it's sometimes okay, sometimes really bad, sometimes bearable and so on - there is little consistency with the lag. I'm going to try playing it in the lowest settings to see whether it's just my PC.

there is a known issue with some computers where once u reach 1000 population or so the game begins to crawl, no matter what cpu you have, could be the latest, they know about it and will hopefully release a patch for it soon to optimize the game better.
you civ wont change to the next age unless you lower tax to dark green, you can use this to your advantage as well, keeping tax high until your fully ready to advance to the next age.

Ive got a total ov 7900 inhabitants, and theres no problems for me..
And your people do raise even if your taxes aint down at dark green. As long as you're in the green areas, they'll evolve, but it takes longer in the light green one.

Actually, its commonly used if you got graphic "lag" too. I think 99.9% of the people
in this forum know its Internet Latency but its still quite good word to use if the game
is unplayable due to the graphics.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Can't you edit the files that define the price of everything (alcohol etc)? At least in 1503 you can...

It does work I just tried it. Click a warehouse, goto the name at the bottom right and left click. type some random characters like SDF then press enter. Now left click it again and type BonanzaCreek with the same capitalization and press enter. It works. But you have to press enter.

I totally agree - but as long as they still enjoy the game it's up to them. Personally I think the last time I cheated in a game was Sanxion on C64 (and I still failed to complete it! lol)
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
