Seen lots of trailers, and what i see is great models and movments, but something in the landscape kinda looks the same. Anyway, it wouldn't be possible to play without a 8800GTX if they did the landscape IRL like.

If you can't tell the difference between actual in-game screenshots and rendered graphics for the PR department then you are new to gaming.

Same thing goes for many of the Youtube vidoes that people are gushing about. Most of those clips are specially rendered scenes (basically scripted cut scenes). Anyone who has been around the gaming industry understands the difference between how the game really looks and plays and a sales video meant to make the game look great.

I want this game to work as much as the next guy but don't disengage your brains. Don't forget that this is the same company that with every new patch of OPFlash they buggered something new.

All screenshots they release are untouched and captured ingame with camera.sqs or simply regular ingame capturing, reason I know this is because almost all screenshots released have been created by their beta testers and I know some of their beta testers.
Same applies to the videos, they're ingame footage you can easily see that from the numerous shakeycam videos floating around.

If you're going to cast aspersions on the character of the company at least have some substance to your bullshit.

Your talking bullshit cus the screens mafia showed are from a thread which posts user-made pics. Armed Assault has been released, those pics have been made by people who own the cz version of the game (they used higher colour saturation and some filters to alter sharpness, but the detail in the pics is authentic). The company doesn't need to release new screens, the games true look is being/has been revealed now. And the videos released by BIS aren't "specially rendered", the only thing that differs them from user-made vids is that the creators probably used high-end machines in order to show full detail. Given you have a good machine you'll get exactly that graphical quality. The Videos were created using the mentioned camera.sqs scripts, maybe cut together after. And when it you say the "action" in the vid is completely scripted, I can tell you AA really offers this kind of scenes ingame without needing scripting, because ofp had them as well ingame without the need of special scripts. It's the intensity and dynamics of the action as seen in the vids, and the gameplay that it created, that made ofp the special game it is. Just stop talking as if your the l33t gameindustry expert cus you sound ridiculous...

ROFL, bf2? How can you compare a military simulator to an ARCADE wannabe game?

Only other important question : Do you have a clue?

These games share no comparisons - 2 totally different types of game.

One, a bunnyhopping loserfest where it takes 10 bullets to kill someone, the other a fairly realistic experience as far as games go.

You have been educated.

yer the two games cant be compared , remember that B.I.S created V.B.S http://www.virtualbattlespace.com/ for the military.i cant see the miliary jumping around in batttlefield 2 lol for training purposes.

i've been playing battlefield 2142 recently just cos there's no games out it can be fun if ure playing with a buddy, but it's boring after a few hours, i simply cant play it anymore,i've uninstalled it.same with bf2.....but armed assault is gonna be amazing and will keep me occupied for maybe years to come.

Ive read that the vehicle handling is quite clunky..anyway I hope the game don't have a steep learning curve as I'm not interested in becoming a virtual G.I., I already got a life. I just want to see if its a fun bf replacement. Also don't bother answering if you're a fanatic fanboy that can't handle a conversation without bashing people that don't know the game as well as you do. It is rather pathetic. Thanks.

it's definitely not as easy to get into as a battlefield game, it's a lot more realistic, one hit on your leg and all you can is crawl, one hit in the chest and you're most likely dead.
I like those kind of games though, so that's fine with me.
it's definitely the most fun in multiplayer coop with some friends, there's just an insane amount of things you can do with the mission editor, it has endless replay value.

The reason you got a negative response is because of what you are saying. OFP is NOT like BF2. It is not a replacement for BF2. If thats what you are looking for I would suggest Counterstrike. Arma, like its predecessor, does come with a learning curve and is unforgiving. If thats not what you like, I wouldn't bother.
