I think Ubisoft is the one to be screwed because of that in the end.
And btw: I can still play most of the games on 1024X768 AAX2 when everything is on high flawlessly (NFSC for example) So my card is not dead yet. I've only planned it to live for 2 years until I enlist to the army in several months, so don't think I expect too much from it... I know exactly what it's capable of. |
Yeah like i said your cards not really all that bad its just lacking in features, I had a X850Pro that i flashed to XT-PE but replaced it with a 7900GT soon after.
When I had it it played stuff fine at mainstream resolutions like yours but I got a LCD with a native res of 1600x1200 so I had to ditch it.

They didn't necessarily leave ATi out but X*** series couldn't do SM3 effects anyway so they were forced to play at PS1.1 until the X1*** series came out. |
Forgive me, but why should have Ubi push towards SM2.0? None of the features they implemented natively in SM3.0 (true HDR, tone mapping, paralax mapping) were possible to make work under SM2.0. Ubi would have to make emulation for all that stuff (like Valve does), just to make x800 owners happy. Don't see anything wrong with going with the newest avaible thing. If Ati were to implement SM3.0 and NV back out, you'd be claiming now that Ati is the sponsor! :lol

Haha, Bro we are misunderstanding eachother, Im advocating UBI not pushing toward SM2 for the same reason your saying. I think you misinterpreted my original post explaining the whole Nvidia Shader Model deal.
But yeah re-read it, after you responded to that i responded back standing my ground but i had actually misunderstood what you responded to me haha. So we have been defending the same position.
I originally explained to the X800 dude about his cards lack of features and why Nvidia neglected the whole SM2 thing. Im re reading everything right now because I don't wanna come here and argue, I think we all get enough angst in our personal lives.
So yeah, just a big misunderstanding.

Having a problem with one of the missions. Don't read if you haven't finished the game.
Spoiler: | I finished the game and after the credits it will load an extra mission New York - Coast Guard Boat but for some reason it shows me swimming in the water and quickly says mission failed... is this a bug or do I need to go back and replay some missions?

Everything i change in the "display" section doesnt stick, and i see it on the game itself, i've turned everything to minimal level possible and it still looks the same
When i return to the display menu the V is on the 2nd option instead of custom...
Its the same in your game ?

I would imagine you would have a slideshow, even with the best hardware, as your RAM would bottleneck up the entire system. XP takes up what, almost half of that?

Well, drivers for the 8800 are considered beta by nVidia, I'm sure that the problem.

the game doesnt support anything higher than a 7900 atm. buying new hardware this early is usually a bad idea anyways.

yup the same was with Price of Persia Sand of Time , remember all people around the world had Gf FX , and then the new SUPER DUPER DX9c card was there GF 6800GT that wouldn`t run shit becoz they didn`t made any drivers for it people waited 6 moths after the game premier for a working patch to run Sand of time and new Nvidia drivers ...
Conclusion :
So For now Fuck Dx10 cards and Vista wait a year and then Buy one
