The key provided was a ms issued beta/rc key, which uses the original PID algorithm, which MS changed after RC2, the Retail/RTM uses a different PID algorithm, so unless somebody leaks an RTM key you just have to install using the default MS key (Install with no key) and take advantage of the 30day trial without activation period, it has full functionality of the OS & windows update, there is a dll call you execute to reset the activation twice, gives you all up upto 90days without activation. So just install, use it, abuse it until somebody releases a proper RTM product key and activation crack so it doesnt lock down after 14 days of entering the product key. This is english only release and 32-bit x86 SKU, it contains all the versions of Vista, Business, Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate. The x64 64-bit hasn't been leaked yet and is still a buggy POS, stick with the 32-bit for now. The 32-bit is approx 2.49gb, and 64-bit 3.4gb or so, ill tell you when it is released on MSDN network, then ill have the final sizes & checksums.

I found this somewhere. |
The internal compile part kinda makes me wonder... but i am guessing that it must be internal before they lock it...

It is, get better 0day sites with traders that don't autofilter -iND, anyway is same method used to activaye 5480 by preserving old activation algorithm

Activation of ANY version of Windows VISTA
Step1
Take ownership and full control of file:
c:\Windows\System32\Licensing\pkeyconfig\pkeyconfi g.xrm-ms
Replace the file:
c:\Windows\System32\Licensing\pkeyconfig\pkeyconfi g.xrm-ms
with rc2 one
Step2
Stop the service 'Software Licensing'
Take ownership and full control of file:
c:/Windows/ServiceProfiles/NetworkService/AppData/ Roaming/Microsoft/SoftwareLicensing/tokens.dat
Replace the file:
c:/Windows/ServiceProfiles/NetworkService/AppData/ Roaming/Microsoft/SoftwareLicensing/tokens.dat
with rc2 one
-REBOOT computer
-Enter a Beta/RC Key with activations available yet
haven't tested. Don't flame.

Maybe it works with RTM:
English Instructions:
Install and logon Vista 5840 with no cd key. ultimate
browse to Windows\System32\Licensing\pkeyconfig' folder,right-click 'pkeyconfig.xrm-ms' open property, click Security>Advanced>Owner>Edit>Administrators,Click OK and close property. reopen property,Click Security>Advanced>Edit>Double-clickAdministrators>Click “Full Control”,Click OK then close Property.
Reboot into safe mode
replace 'pkeyconfig.xrm-ms' using downloaded one.
Right click“Computer”>“Manage”,Click“Services and Applications”>“Services”,find 'Software Licensing' and stop
Browse windows/ServiceProfiles and merge with the downloaded folder of the same name
it will ask you if you want to replace tokens.dat do so. the restart and activet with this key xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
you can see the expired time of evaluation in 'winver', because you are using the 5744 licence.
I personally have no timebomb.

The 64bit version is crap, very little compability - but it isn't on the DVD afaik. You can't have a 64-bit OS that supports 32-bit applications, that's just the way things work
