Well i am running 2 gb RAM, a 7800GTX 512, with a AMD 4000+ rig, all on MAX! and just sailing trough. So far no "BIG" battles but sort a medium ones...but all looks really smoth and nice.
Again really like RTW next gen sort a. You never really zoom in on the battles (like in the vids) so basically it sort a looks like RTW but a bit slicker.

i bet youve turned shadows off to get top performance ill have to anyway

Nope, all max, and so far not even a sign of lag or stutter.
Anyway just waiting for a 8800GTX, 1-2 weeks on German Amazon...heard that Nvida have called back a lot of cards due to Faulty resistor controlling , will get a E 6600 Dual core and 2 new gigs of Corsair Dominator + a 24" Samsung or Dell, did not make up my mind yet. I don't think I'll get the 8800 too early, better to wait for second generation of that chip if you don't really 'need' directx10, but thats another discussion entirely  |

Well if anyone still has the german release and wants an english "localized.pack", here it is:

I just got my preorder in the mail, so i decided to upload it for anyone who still hasn't got theirs. The movies and stuff will probably still be in German, but it's better than nothing, and at least it'll hold you over until you get your English versions.

Have you turned it to max while INGAME in a battle? I very much doubt you have unit details at maximum = no sprites what so ever = every single of the thousands of units in 3d no matter the range. |
Havent had real big battles yet, its possible that it will start to lag when I do. But so far havent felt any problems.

So, with that pack you get a working, english MTW? No barbaric language? Cool.
Don't get me wrong, German language is OK... sometimes, in some games. I play Silent Hunter 3 only in German, but on the other hand - can't stand Star Wars in that language.

No, I tried it and unless I'm missing something, it doesn't change the texts.
Changing sounds would take hundred megs of downloading, but I'll settle for the texts until my order arrives...

looks like the *english* selection just lets the installer run in english, and there just are no english files on the german dvd, which means the english release will have the same size and there's no way to change anything other than text in the german release.
