I just started to play Pro Evo Soccer 6, and I need a new gamepad.
Recommend a good gamepad, it should not be very cheap-one.
If it looks and feels nice, and have enough functions, it is what I am looking for.

Logitech Rumblepad 2

An excelent gamepad with a great feel. In many aspects it's very similar to the standard PS2 gampad. It's very solid, so it will last a while, which I can't say about some of the previous Logitech gamepads. One thing I'm really liking about this pad is that it seems that somewhere, somone decided on how to number the buttons, and keep them in the same order for most of the games. What that means that more often then not, I find that the game is already preconfiugred for this 12 button setup.

I always use the 360 Gamepad on the computer.. Microsoft released a great driver, and the controller is widely regarded as the best ever on a console.

Cheers!

That's your opinion! I've modded mine and it's now MSU colors... but he wanted a nice functional controller and wasn't afraid to spend some money. for 40 dollars or so, it's the best gamepad I've used on any comp to this date.

Not that I use gamepads much, but for Roms and games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance it's tight.

Both the logitech cordless and the 360 cordless are the same price (here anyways, $60 each)

so meh ... may as well go with that one. the corded version of the logitech is cheaper though ($40)

I actually have the corded logitech rumble pad since I'm a cheap bastard Razz

Hi!

I'm planning on buying a pad too!
Is there any difference between the cordless and the wired rumblepad 2? Of course playing without wires is interesting but is there any other difference, like Vista support, sensitivity, grip on the controller or anything else.
I've used a PS controller around 4-5 years ago for half an hour so I don't know what to watch out for, but using keyboard for MotoGP 2007 really suxx. I couldn't manage a clean fast lap after hours of trying and that's new to me but I can see that I don't have full control over the bike. I could do Carbon in 2-3 days with a Viper using keyboard but this is getting too much.

I'd really like to buy something with future support because I don't plan changing pads every year.

Thanks in advance!

get a 360 controller, with or without cord, nearly all new games have native support for the 360 pad and wont need calibrating etc in game, ive also got 3 other pads, all great but the 360 is the easiest by far, no setting up, just play

360 controller is fantastic, I've used practically every pad over many years and this is borderline perfect. PS controllers are great for beat em ups but otherwise the 360 is the one you need

With this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crossfire-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000MGVAAQ

Its worth every penny, I love using the Wireless 360 Pads on the PC (I think you can connect 4 pads to it)

I also suggest a 360 gamepad. their design is just awesome, it can't get much better than that.
it's also a high quality and obviously has great compatibilty with vista and xp. (you dont even need to download any drivers to get them to work on vista, it's built in)

not too mention most of the ports were getting are comming from the 360, so when the game pad is supported it uses the 360 layout etc. Also the games for windows campaign doesn't NEED to be but asks to be compatible with the 360 controller

you mean when the fucking cunts are too fucking lazy to change the fucking instructions on a fucking tutorial? Razz

that pisses me off as much as when they are too lazy to code key binding changes into the tutorial as well (thinking of Stranglehold).

I dunno about that

The Ps2/PS3 controller is far superior imo

Hey, thanks for the many replies! I think I'll drop in to the shop someday and try out the feel of the mentioned controllers.
The MS 360 is the favorite for support but it has a unique look compared to other controllers and thats why I have to know if it can be handled well. I've got big European hands not some Chinese sticks Very Happy

To tell the truth I thought Logitech's controllers are the better but it looks like they can only make good steering wheels.

Thanks again for the many replies!

the 360 controller is very ergonomically (<< does that word even exist? I think I just made it up) designed and doesn't make your hands hurt even when playing for hours.

if you're worried, i'm sure you can go into some game store where they have a 360 standing around for people to play with. that way you can try out the controller.

and yeah SycoShaman, the PS2/3 controllers are also awesome, but I wouldn't say they are far superior. I think they're as good as the 360 pads, but not superior. THe problem here is that you need an adapter to make em PC compatible, while a 360 pad works fine out of the box.

Well, then this is one of the first things we disagree on Wink

Been playing the PS controller since PS1 (theyre the same anyway, well close to)

When you´ve played for example the 24hr Nurburgring Endurance in GT4, you know the DualShock pretty good Wink And i´ve spent endless hours with the 360-controller too.

So yeah, imo the 360 controller is superior to the DualShock Smile

I wouldn't be able to choose between a ps2/3 pad or a 360, their both very well designed. Tho I like where the left thumb stick is located on a 360 better but I don't like how the triggers are located a bit further down and take a lot longer to push all the way down compared to the old s-type.

Alrighty guys, I need a new gamepad, as my dog chewed my previous one. I had a Logitech Chillstream for PC, which had the X360 settings and absolutely loved it. Wanted to buy a new one, but as they don't make it anymore, can't find it.

I don't know the latest models, but I want the same X360 button setting.

Sorry for the revival!

This might come as a shock, but if you like the Xbox 360 layout then the Xbox 360 controller would be the most obvious choice Smile

The corded one works out of the box - just plug it in. For the wireless one you would need to buy a separate receiver though, if you can't find a full "for PC" package.

For some more money you can get the Xbox One controller... could be worth it for the better D-Pad.

i had a chilstream in the past, and only the M$ wired x360 pad was a worthy replacement. yeah, you don't get the cool sweat free fans, but you gain force feedback.

had a thrustmaster gpx in between, which is also a x360 layout, but it wasn't durable, nor comfy.

I have a Saitek Thrustmaster 3-in-1 and a Logitech Dual Action. Both are really good, I generally use the Logitech because it is lighter and smaller and strangely I don't miss the force feedback.

With x360ce every game works with any gamepad, it has saved my life Very Happy
I've used it in about 10 games, 100% success rate in all I've tried.
