SEGA? why does it say sega in the installation? Why is sega the publisher? Very Happy
And why are you installing to the default location? Much easier on the mind to have 1 folder like C:\Games and every single game installed there Very Happy
Just like the Programs folder! *complain at other ppls organisation problems like its my business*

Surray what country is that? Glorious wellbeing for nation of khazakstan?

Oooh, things are going well in the campaign here:

I'm playing as the Holy Roman Empire (black with yellow borders). I've aggressively expanded at the cost of various rebel settlements. Also, the Pope excommunicated the Milanese ruler, and about 6 years later I swooped into Italy and razed Milan and Genoa. Now I'm in the process of rebuilding my Italian holdings, and I have a little war going on with Denmark. Something which the Pope doesn't like by the way Razz

Ah yeah, and I took Bordeaux because those French ponces couldn't manage it themselves.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

How is the AI in battles? Are they predictable like in RTW? Also how is diplomacy? Is it as pointless as it was in RTW?

A.I. seems very much like Rome: Total War thus far. The only thing I've seen is that the A.I. cavalry now actually stops a charge when you move your pikemen to the front row.

But they still are a bit stupid with when you're taking them out with arrows, and they still are stupid while defending, with positioning their units.

Thus far, combatwise it's very similar to R:TW.

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

what about suicidal commanders? in rome they always charged the commander unit into your troops like any other unit, often ending the battles early because of morale loss.
does the ai still do that?

That's what I have been afraid of, a focus on graphics and not improving AI. The one thing that mods havent been able to (completely) rectify is the sometimes downright idiotic AI. Those times RTW goes from being a brilliant strategy game to frustrating and almost unbearable. Especially the fights in the streets of cities, where units would try to maintain formation and by doing, get themselves killed with poor pathfinding. Besides that, trying to take walls and units being oblivious to ranged attacks was annoying as hell. They reduced all strategy to simple attrition, which isnt fun. Hopefully when I give it a try I'll be proved wrong and not feel like playing RTW, just a prettier version with more guys on screen.

i thought the bit in combat that you can DRAW the unit row with the mouse was the most awesome thing i saw in the whole demo
it was fucking murder in RTW that you had to first move the troops and THEN rotate and grow or shrink the rows

one thing that is also missing are the naval battles
and they were a crucial part of medieval warfare

i read that the battle A.I is more modable so thats a plus, hopefully the rest of the core AI, like diplomacy is modable too, because it will probably be pathetic (like the bot refusing a cease fire while they are destroyed to 1 city)

Funny how all games coming out require mods to make the games great or playable Rolling Eyes

I miss the good old days when they used to release fun games, and when the pc market wasn't stale as it is now, with most companies releasing unfinished products and relying on modders to do the rest.

This game will be worth a download only, I played the demo and though I liked Rome total war, it doesn't seem really improved and I would loved to be able to do a campaign on multiplayer! (even if it's 2players hot seat)
