The demo looked pathetic though, the texture resolution was appalling, far worse than Condemned that uses a derivative (or ancestor) of the same engine. It was an insanely heavy engine on the PC and to make it run on the 360 they just flattened the textures to xbox1 quality.
I havent seen the full version but when devs say they have improved something for the full version they're lying through their teeth 90% of the time.

Well I wish I hadnt bothered with this. I read the reviews and it sounded great. However it looks and feels like a 3 year old PC game. There are no lighting effects or decent textures. Looks very dull flat and boring. The screen judders if looking around quickly. There are far too many cut-scenes, I played for 15 minutes and wish I hadnt bothered wasting a DVDR. Pity the poor saps who believe the reviews and expect some sort of next-gen 360 experience from this (and unfortunately cough up £50)... If someone were to play this as their first and only 360 game they will be totally convinced to buy a PS3 instead. There are much better PROPER next-gen 360 games out there.... ffs even COD2 looks better than this. In fact there are better looking Xbox1 games than this!!

If you didnt play the PC version, I would recommend you stick with it. It is a good game and it does get better. Admittedly it is quite slow at the start and I agree its not very next-gen visually but it is after all only a port of a one year old PC game.
Judging by what mcmanic says, the game benefits from the hdtv support.

Wow, lots of graphics whores in here. From the way they talk you'd think that FEAR didn't have pretty good gameplay despite whatever graphical changes have been made to this version. Sad.

I'm a graphics whore.
The gameplay isn't all that great BTW. Pretty much run of the mill FPS type gameplay. Nothing spectacular.

Im not a graphics whore! I have no complaints about the port whatsoever, visually or otherwise! I think it is a good effort and the game is still as great as I remember it on the PC.
It is pretty much run of the mill but it has a good horror driven story and back in the day when it was first released its hype was all about the special effects and slow motion which still looks good today in my opinion, especially when all the sparks are flying. The excessive gore and supernatural atomsphere are what also drew me to the game originally.

"Perseus Mandate will be released for the PC, but it will also ship in a special Xbox 360 version called F.E.A.R. Files. This will be a compilation that packages F.E.A.R. for the Xbox 360 along with Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate, the first time both expansions will appear on that console. In addition, Perseus Mandate and F.E.A.R. Files will introduce new multiplayer modes and maps. Details on those have yet to be revealed, but this looks like a solid expansion. Both the Perseus Mandate and F.E.A.R. Files are out at the end of October, right around Halloween.
"
So its the original and two new addons.
I'll get this.
