Anyone else having problems mounting these huge-ass DVD's? I had the same prob with Daemon Tools 4.6 and Gothic 3. I could mount it with 4.4, but 4.6 freezes and I have to reboot the whole puter.

rld will rip and compress it down to a 1 MB *.exe- then you can paste and copy it on a 3,5 floppydisk and its cracked too.

So no way to play with sm 2.0? THat blows. Btw you dont need any fancy loaders, just mount on DT with all options on and use proSt0p, it runs fine (well at least it starts up, but when loading the game crashes cuz of sm).

Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

the min reqs are ri-fucking-diculous. this is really stupid on the part of ubi. they've basically singled out the market to like.... 8 people in the world, which basically destroys their multiplayer environment. now we'll only get to see 5 people online at any one time. the splinter cell online community was already not too big to begin with.
gahhh.

I think the minimum requirements are fine. The developers want people to play the game as intended without sacrificing graphical features that in a game like SC, play a huge role.

Besides, there are plenty of SM 3 cards on the market that have been phasing out the older generations cards for a reason and this game is a prime example of software putting cutting edge hardware to use. Also, they are doing the PC players justice by not dumbing down the game to PS2/Xbox level and keeping it on par with its X360 counterpart from a technical point of view.

No, it's just marketing. If a GeForce 6600 can handle the game, my X850XT could too. nVidia just paid Ubisoft a nice amount of money to make it incompatible with mid-range Ati cards.

Like Fifa are u crazy or what, don't know what people are whining about high specs needed, game runs fine on highest next gen settings. Gfx card 7900 gtx, are better cards out nowadays. Liked the start beginning under the ice and it took a minute or so to find out. First impression is very good.

haha lol ..like fifa:D but i have to admit , that i am with you on that, when the first splinter cell came out, it was amazing, new engine ,intresting gameplay ,realistic. but the other games in the series ,kinda keept the same style and graphic. if you love the gaming style, you will never complaine, but if you looking for new fitures ..you probably disapointed.

about the new one..i have heard good stuff about the gameplay and the screenshots looks very good..its the sme basic engine(with some improovements),but i must say it looks mutch better:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/splintercell4/screenindex.html

lets hope it will be intresting:)

hehe yeah i meant that it doesnt change much of course its a great game that looks great too. was just hoping this one would have "greater" changes to it than the previous ones because they play pretty much like expansions as opposed to different games.

edit:yeah looking at those screens it does look the most different to the others which is great! Very Happy

It's UE2.5 with custom renderers, they have been updated a lot since CT.

There are shitloads of people who will play this game, and it is already huge in multiplayer on the Xbox360. I think requiring an SM3-capable card is just fine, these cards have been available for YEARS anyway, looks like it's time to upgrade for a few people here.

Yes, the game is basically the same as Chaos Theory, it's obviously still called Splinter Cell, so there are only going to be so many changes in it - if you loved the previous games you are going to love this one too.

So what's new?
-Graphics look better
-Story/plot/characters
-The whole double-agent thing gives you some choices during the game (such as who to kill of important people, etc... how far do you want to go on the terrorist side?)
-Multiplayer is different now:
-single-player mission co-op is sadly gone, now you only have three groups of missions with 6-7 maps (you play several different missions on the same maps) where you play with your buddies against bots, almost like in a deathmatch match.
-Of course Versus is still in, now it supports up to 3v3. Unfortunately it can lag sometimes when playing on the Xbox360.

That's basically it.

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards
Bravery is not a function of firepower.
