Finally found the damn thing.. Very Happy

Edit: The quality isnt that great considering, and the watermarking really doesn't help its case. I think I'll wait for this one to see a better release..

Is there an english version in the works?

This film is a Mexican/spanish film so i can't imagine that an english version would be worth seeing (I hate dubbed movies, it looks and sound soo phony)

I'd imagine so. It's not really that big of a deal, is it? This is Mexico's entry for best foreign film at the oscars this year, so it will still get a lot of publicity... it doesn't come out in theatres until the end of december, but maybe we will see a better quality oscar screener before then?

Really, the voices of the characters (particularly the captain and the half man/half goat dude) would be ruined by some shitty english dubbing. Plus, the movie is set during the spanish civil war, so really, speaking english wouldn't make any sense Wink

Its subtitled in English, at least judging from the sample film it is, very good quality though.
Getting it now Wink

Edit: I withdraw that, quality is so so I must say...but watchable.

WHy not?

I think subtitled movies are more...involved. Like you get into the movie more and have to focus on it more.

A good example is 'A Very Long Engagement'. Its a french movie about a woman who is searching for her boyfriend/husband who was thought to be executed during the first world war.

I think if they did it in english, it would ruin it.

9/10 Films I watch with subs ... polish subs Wink and they are wayyy tooo distracting ...
And as u said it "have to focus on it more" IMHO its just going the opposite way.
You can't concertante on the movie itself - it sux especially at comedy movies and MOSTLY at CGI movies where there are plenny of eyecandys and you watching a movie with one eyeball and reading a subs with another one Wink
But the more u get into movie you almost doesn't notice that ...
And u can kinda get used to it ...

Seems that way, it can be a pain but on that note she goes to bed far earlier than I do anyway.. so I have plenty of time to squeeze in a few movies over the weekend while she sleeps Very Happy
