I was thinking about that but there wasn't any other topic that seemed appropiate enough to add up to other problems so I just renamed this one so that other ppl with further problems can post here aswell.. that ok?

Im also getting problems with the game, I go to start career then it gets to the loading screen, then it just crashes to desktop, every time. Even in quick race, I've tried upgrading my nforce drivers, latest nvidia drivers and latest omega drivers, as well as reinstalling DX9 and reinstalling the game.
btw my specs are Athlon XP 2800+ GeForce 6800GT 1536mb RAM
I've been reading on all sorts of forums/boards that people are having similar troubles with crashes to desktops at different points.

Maybe your HD lacks of free space, maybe both downloads are corrupted, or maybe your motherboard is damaged? Something is on your side.

block nfsc.exe from the net with your firewall....solved my problems with crashing back to desktop
am using the razor1911 release and crack

i have sound problem, the sound repeats itself 2-4 times every second, so i can hear the engine roaring in the same way 4 times and not hear what the characters are saying. any suggestions?

Hi!
I've got a problem too. When I try to hire Samson the game crashes. I've tried it several times, no other problems. I've tried blocking nfsc.exe and setting compatibility to win2k but neither of them helped. No performance issues or anything else and I've the latest nVidia drivers. I'm using the Razor release.
P4 2.6HT, 1,5GB Ram, 6600GT
BTW does anybody know where can I get the Viper?

My installation archieve ( Need For Speed Carbon Collector's Edition(c) HKZONDA) have 3 broken files, without them I can`t install the game....
TRACKS\L5RA\TroughBoundary.bin
FRONTEND\FRONTB2.BUN and also
DEMOFRONTB1.BUN
So I think that HKZONDA is broken image.

Got it installed without any problems but when I start the game it's just pitch black.
Thought my gfx drivers were out of date so I installed the latest but the problem's still there.
My specs are P4 3.0GHz, 2GB RAM, Radeon x600 256MB.

Solved:
1st: Only occurs with Hungarian language.
2nd: From the middle of the northern (red) zone (the only red zone with 2 races).
Hope I could help someone.

Does anyone else NOT have force feed back??? I am using the DFP and it works in rfactor, GTR2 etc.
If it helps I am using the razor version and I have "rumble" set to on.

Hey I successfully installed need for speed carbon. Now I'm trying to start the game. Is there any IMG files for me to mount to start playing? Because when I played nfs most wanted there was a img file for that.

have you blocked net access for the game? i had the same problem until i blocked access for nfsc.exe (have also excluded nfsc.exe from NOD virus on access scanner)
now i have no problems at all...game, movies, sound all running fine 
specs for those who are trying suss it out
nfs carbon razor1911 release burn to disc @ 8x with nero7, installed with setup in w2k compatibility
xpmce, am2 x2 4200 o/c 10%, 1gb ddr2 667 dual channel, asus m2n pv-vm m/b, asus en7300gt 256mb - 91.47 whql drivers
game settings custom med/high with 2x AA, no motion blur, 800x600 for TV out
running smooth and silky
