The chances of you being alive are fucking amazing, out of the trillions of sperm your father has dispensed with, you are the one who won, out of all the males and females in your entire generation back upon millions and millions of years, you have been given the greatest gift of all, to live. |

From what you said, you think if a different sperm made it then you would no longer exist. imo this is a primitive belief. Think of it like this... what if you mother had a kid with a different guy, and your father hooked up with a different woman? Would you be half of two different ppl? Think about it thoroughly, your previous comments were too individualistic in nature. Life is life, just because you're stuck in your current mind and body as 'you' does not mean you're not part of all life.

Busy people don't have the time to be depressed. |
Thats not really true.
They have more of a distraction but I think depression affects busy people the same as anyone else.
I mean, for 9 and a half/10 hours a day Im a busy person, always on the go doing something. You do you stuff while thinking about what depresses you/stresses you

Ok, how about this:
'Mentally busy people don't have time to be depressed.'
If your mind is occupied you don't have time to consider depression. At least thats the theory. |
I still dont think its true.
If your depressed, something is obviously bothering you. Some sort of stress on the mind. And because its so..prevelant (?), its thought about alot more than anything else.
Even me. When Im working, Im constantly thinking about shit thats bothering me. Even tho Im doing stuiff that requires you to constantly use your head, Im still thinking of other shit while doing whatever it is im doing.
Its such a pain in the ass
Your mind keeps drifting back to whatever the problem(s) is

I don't mean that if you're already depressed, being busy will prevent those feelings from surfacing.
I mean if you're always occupied, you don't give a chance for depressive feelings to develop.

I guess...
I still think being busy has a very minimal effect on depression. Whether its prevention or not

It is a symptom of depression though, paired with other symptoms it could very well be depression.
