i don't know how significant the bandwidth usage is on the release pages but there's a pretty easy way to decrease it considerably. the tables with the releases are perfectly suited for clientside rendering, just pop the data itself into javascript arrays and document.write it out. should work in any browser that supports document.write. i did a quick test (i was bored) and dropped the home page from 125K to 43K, so 1/3 the size. check the source here
(sorry, not trying to mirror you or anything, just an example)

And it would completely destroy the website for user agents that do not support javascript or have javascript disabled.

cool, just wanted to make sure you guys knew about it. do a lot of people in this specific demographic have js disabled?
