Quote:

hard question i know .. but i can say most fast one is bitdefender but i don't like to use it anymore easy to install and easy to uninstall ..

Mcafee
Norton
those doesn't easy to uninstall ..

tell me what do you think ?

BitDefender ( Faster and get awards )
NOD32 ( is an antivirus package only )
Kaspersky Internet Security
F-Secure
Common Sense

Or other .. ?

i mean with security suite a package of software Containing :
Anti-Virus, Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Antiphishing, Antispam and Parental Control
but it's OK if you use Multiple programs but you have to mention it all.

BitDefender is great. I personally use NOD32, but if I wasn't using that I'd go for BitDefender.

I use Kaspersky (just the AV), Zone Alarm, Spyware Terminator and Peer Guardian.
And since I think a browser IS a part of Internet security (probably the most important heh) I use Opera (Firefox is also great of course, its just about an individual but Opera uses less system power).

But if you are looking for the real suite, I would recommed Kaspersky probably.
Oh, and NOD32 is REALLY great if it comes to speed - it is VERY fast AV (and at the same time quite decent) and uses only a little CPU and memory.

I use NOD32, PeerGuardian, Firefox if that counts, and Spybot S&D. It's also very worth it to turn on TeaTimer in Spybot because that protects the Run section of the registry (what's in msconfig), and the homepage of your IE (even though I don't use it, it's nice to protect the homepage). Running normally, NOD32 takes up about 22MB of RAM, which is average, but it doesn't eat up CPU like Norton.

$20 on microsoft backing down from that stance as vistas around the world are filled with worms and viruses that utilise the zillions of security holes microsoft left for them
ofcourse, it COULD be good, but given microsoft's track record of computer security, i'd say they're fucked

I use Outpost Firewall. Makes Spybot redundant as it mirrors the teatimer function (only it does it a lot better). I really recommend this firewall to everyone. It takes a bit of setting up, and you have to know your stuff. However, once you have it going, its the best - Ever. It even has a full screen application mode for when your gaming. How good is that. I used to use Sygate Personal Firewall Pro, but upgraded to Outpost this year.

I don't use any anti-virus program at all. I even stopped using anti-spyware programs. Mainly because all the time I had them installed they never discovered anything. No virus, no spyware, nothing. I used to run Avast, and Spybot and Ad-aware and all the usual suspects. Personally I do think that the threat of getting a virus is over-rated. I often wonder if it isn't the anti-virus companies that set up all those "free wallpaper/free screensaver" websites in the first place. If you know what I mean.

I don't get spyware or viruses, despite running p2p software. Why? Because I don't download anything suspect. I don't use IE. I don't use Outlook Express. I disable all images in my email client. I don't click on suspect links. I don't have any inclination to download "free screensavers" or "free smilies". I wouldn't even dream of running MSN/Yahoo messenger. If you think your going to go on suspect websites, try VMWare, you know it makes sense.

Get yourself a good Firewall. That's all you will ever need. That and a good deal of common sense.

I've been using Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition (i've noticed - especially on my notebook - that it doesn't chew resources that the retail Norton AntiVirus did purely because it doesn't come with a lot of "crap" that seems to be included in Norton to make it "user friendly"), along with Firefox and Common Sense and have never had any issues at all.

+1 for common sense. I occasionally run an antivirus just to make sure there's nothing there but i never had anything. same with spyware. scan it from time to time, the only thing he finds are tracking cookies.

Don't click anything you see, know what you download and don't use IE, and you'll be fine Smile

no
it's on 24/7
i only turn it off/restart it for driver or hardware upgrades
and yes, i run windows
common sense is underrated - and some seem to lack it completely
but it's worth a try
and doesn't take a single second of cpu time

Kind of in the same boat too, used Zonealarm for so long but the Security Suite eats up about 100 MB of RAM which is just crazy, almost as bad as NIS. Used to use Sygate Personal Firewall back in the day, got I loved that Firewall, so simple yet so good Smile
