Raven games have kept me entertained since i first got into pc gaming a long time ago.
http://www.ravensoft.com/games.html is a list of all the stuff they have done
for the pc. They are also working on x-men legends which is an action rpg for all 3 major consoles! (which looks awesome btw...think dark alliance + xmen)
Im interested to see how quake4 single player turns out to be...im thinking somthing like UT2k4 but i really hope they do somthing different.

Just think it's lame that they want it to be more like Quake 2... I mean, quake's potential is in the Multi player and have always been, though the single player campaign in Quake 1 was actually pretty good...

Nice to see their games passed off to a developer who actually KNOWS something about single player gaming.

yea, well Q3A was always supposed to bea fragging contest, this will have a story etc. and will be great online too. i just hope they allow servers to be configured better and mods easier to install. still some of the detail is amazing, gonna need a high spec comp if everything is to the high standards of the main guy.

Raven made the heretic/hexen series, so they get points in my book. Not ID, but still im sure they can put out a kickass game. Just look how heretic and hexen turned out from the original doom engine!
fear the led zeppelin that was!

*There is a large variety in locations. It isnt dark/corridor based like doom 3. The pics show corridor sections, but these do not form the majoriity of the environemnts
*There is a full range of marine, and strogg vehicles. Usable
*Weapons are going to be based on Q2/Q3A - modifed for the new game
*The gameplay isnt like Doom 3. It is fast actioned, not slower paced
*Full Single Player, and Multiplayer modes will be present. MP is being worked on.
*Screenshots indicate that there is going to be squad based gameplay present - not confirmed by Raven
*Modifications to player via using Strogg technology to improve bio performance
some raven quotes for u
"The multiplayer experience is more akin to Q3A. We felt that Q4 would be best served by capturing all the things that made Q3 great. Weve got hyper fast action, deadly weapons, bounce pads, trick moves - you name it. Die hard fans will feel right at home"
"Well Q4 is more like an intense action move to D3 Horror movie feel. Insread of scaring the player, we;re going all out to deliver a fast paced adrenalin rush of combat"
"We'e worked hard to create an authentic sci fi world. Without getting to specific, we're creating lots of varied locations that you visit on your trek across the Strogg home world - including both indoor and outdoor environments. From journeying deep into Strogg industiral complexities to driving vehicles accross the blasted planet surface, you will experience a huge variety of visuals and gameplay"

it will be good. i have no doubts.
i am starting to think that maybe more developers should just make single player games and leave the multi up to the fans. Most of the engines used in game now a days is always multiplayer ready, so just have the SDK and be done with it.

While Quake 1 single player was very good at that time...
Quake 2 sp was one of the first games that made me feel that I was part of that world, that I needed to somehow escape that horrific alien world Strogg, maybe saving some of the soldiers that were enslaved too..
But the thing about Quake 2 was that you always thought alone... It was all up to you... The atmoshpere, the locations, were really good... The monsters, for example the tank comander, were scary at that time...
