Only changed resolution from 1280 960 to 1024 768
But the stuttering still occurs. |
I have got the same thing! First level (tutorial i think) was ok. Then the 2e starting stutering (loading things or so) then it comes normal and then when that troll attacks it keeps tuttering. Very strange

not working here. tried dt4 all emu on + asr. exe = no go
also tried dt4 all emu on + procyon.exe = no go

Pinox use the demo exe,
mounting dint work for me also

I got it off steam and when i try to run it it gives the following error:
"mm.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Details:"AppName: mm.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: engine.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00235c80"
Anyone else who had theirs taken off steam run into this?

yes i agree, for me loading totaly kills the gameplay... couldnt stand HL2 for this reason alone (would prob. rate it like 60%, 90% if it wasnt for the loading.)

have you all rememberd to selected "All Options: ON" in Deamon Tools (emulation?) Rightclick the red d-tools icon in the task bar --> emulation --> All options ON.. Then try to boot up the game!

yeah did that with no avail.
also tried demo.exe, the game runs but crashes after loading the training level.
guess we just have to wait for a proper crack...

Runs like un-optimized shit for me on a fresh Win XP Home SP2 install.
Using recommended settings by the game at 1280x1024 and lowering the resolution doesn't help.
Everything stutters and the loading times are out of this world. I waited about 7 minutes for Stonehelm to load.
P4 660 3.6 GHz
1 GB DDR2
GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB (91.47 drivers)
SB X-Fi XtremeMusic (latest drivers)

I had to uninstall blindwrite, but after doing that, simply mounting in new dtools and running worked.

to run the game u need :
Daemon tools v4.06 , pr0t st0p and procyon.exe ( u can find procyon on the folder where u have the game )
So .. u install daemon tools v4.06 right click on the icon on the taskbar go to emulation > all options ON .U mount the mds ( NOT the mdf ) and install the game .
After this u open pr0t st0p and click hide.
After .. open procyon.exe .. browse to where u installed the game .. and open mm.exe .
It worked for me .. and on my 4400+ , 1GB ram corsair and my old leadtek 6600gt runs like a charm with everything on high except AA.

Same here mate, nothing works - but had other games with the same protection working using dt4 and proc. alas this wont work for me.
Using the demo.exe atm - seems to be working ok but seems pointless using a demo executable. hopefully there will be a crack. as this game is great

if your game stutters try making a shortcut to the exe and put -heapsize and then between a quarter and a half of your total ram in megabytes times 1000. So if you have 2 gigs of ram, try -heapsize 968000

ok, noticed you all have problems running this, so did i. disable your cd/dvd drives in device manager then change your virtual drive letter to whatever your "real" drive letter was, then just use the regular shortcut and run the game. and unmount first of course.

btw i tried the demo.exe and it gives me a critical error before it even goes to any sort of screen. I just get an hourglass for a moment and then crit error :/
