I would like to know this too

I played the demo and to me it looked like a more arcadish version of Oblivion.I was not really impressed but i said that i would wait for the full game before passing a final judgement.

A mini review from someone would be great before i waste 7 gig of bandwith (or a few bucks) on this Razz

The game's attraction, for me at least, is the brutal combat and incredible physics that the source engine makes fantastic use of! It is in my opinion that one and only reason it is worth your bandwith or for that matter, your money! Very Happy

Have anyone reached the mission where you are supposed to lower the gangplank on the ship for that female to enter? When ive cleared out all the enemies on deck, and lower the plank, i get mission failed.. "Vienna (or whats her name) hates you".. wtf? What have i done wrong?

The game can be compared to Painkiller! Its just really fun and due to the different skills and weapons and approaches, the replayability is great! I find myself loading certain areas over and over again simply because they are grea fun! physics are amazing, and its just a lot of fun!

i got the procyon release and ready to install it. what are the install options so you can play both the SP and MP without having your key been blacklisted?

btw.. i just installed with daemon tools and played (no cracks, no 3rd party emulators or anything).. works great Very Happy Using the newest version of daemon tools and the Procyon release!

Post your system specs. Possible driver issue. Check the official forums for people with a similar issue.

Maybe you need to update your video card drivers? If they are up to date, its something else I guess.. are you using the demo.exe crack? As ive just mentioned, i just play it without any cracks at all! just mount, turn all emulation ON in D-Tools and go!

Try installing the .Bik viewer/codec and see if that solves the problem, you can get it here:

After installation you can also try to view the files directly in the following folder:
\Dark Messiah of Might and Magic\mm\media\

If it plays like it should everything is fine.

You can't burn securom on dvd, until a crack comes out you will have to keep the image on your hd.


Or burn the image on a dual layer, then mount it in DT from dual layer DVD.

Possibly because of codec packs. Have you ever installed any codec packs? nimo, ace's, etc?

Codec packs are a bad thing to install and 99.99% of time are unnessasary. They are also infamous for causing problems like that in games and other applications.

The only codecs you generally need are Xvid (includes divx), AC3. Perhaps real alternative or QT alternative if you have to play .mov or .rm files.

Or you can use VLC instead to play most of those without installing any codecs.

The game is pretty linear but there are many ways of killing people. The main attraction of this game is the combat, the combat is just brilliant. It's brutal and works perfect. Don't compare this to Oblivion or Gothic, this isn't an RPG. It's an action game with RPG influence.

The game looks good and runs very well, the levels are very non-linear for a linear game, the combat is maybe the most brutal I've seen in a game and the atmosphere is great.
The only bad thing is the loading (HL2 deja-vu), but I can live with that.

I recommend this game to anyone who likes the genre.

The game runs like shit over here.
Runs good for some minutes,
then it just keep's stuttering all the time.
Kinda strage cause HL2 runned fine with the highest settings.

I know this game is more memory dependet,
but its unplayable for me.

My Specs :
P4 3ghz @ 3.30
1 GB DDR
Geforce 7800 GS

Anyone with similar specs ?

Edit

Ingame settings are all maxed out,
Only changed resolution from 1280 960 to 1024 768
But the stuttering still occurs.

Bah, just like i said (while someone else responded that i was totaly wrong and that they had fixed the Source engine's loading times). Are the levels the same small size as in HL2 too?

Would totaly buy this if they had used a better engine Sad

Source is one of the best engines around. The physics are great and the Source games run AND look geat. The only downside is the loading.
