Played for several hours and is a highly enjoyable game Very Happy
Great humour and game is good looking with populated areas.

Seems like this version improves on the original - graphics are slightly better and towns are packed with people, cars, etc.

Areas are huge with tons to explore and do - jetpacking to th higher bildings is always a challenge.

Seems like the improved Cryptosporidium has a fantastic array of weapons & psy upgrades available.

The only irritation was at the beginning to suss out how to invert the Y-axis camera movement.

Let's hope we are spoiled this XMas and get Black 2 as well !!

Thx for the mini review Bugulous, I'll give this a shot over the weekend. Gothic 3 and Harvest Moon:A Wonderful Life on the Gamecube have me hooked at the moment. Razz

Any thoughts on Family Guy and Justice League Heroes (worth going out of my way to try?)

Well even if we don't have Black 2 to look forward to theres still Splinter Cell 4, even on the old Xbox version the preview impressions that they had on IGN were very impressive. Smile

I tested co-op with my brother yesterday. You can play the entire game with all missions. Both of you can enter the spaceship. One player flies and shoots with the laser while the other controls some rocket launching turrent.

There is also a mini game where you play volleyball with people, though it isn't too intersting to play.

The only downside is that you have to stay close to each other, the engine can't render the level two times independently.

As the Justice League thread is locked - here are my 1st impressions:-

Graphically top-down aka Baldurs Gate II, you can zoom in close to action though you can't see enemies coming at you.

Clean crisp grafix with lots of destructible objects - vehicles, wastebins, etc. You can pick up chairs, etc and lob them at enemies.

Start off as Superman & Batman & as you collect power-ups you can access your character screen to add points into health, energy, super-punch, etc. Also have a weird alchemy screen where you combine attributes like luck, endurance, etc and can then assign them to a power-up like super-punch.

Got to Research labs where the 1st tough boss the sentry drone II killed Cooperman and I ran round like a b*tch as Batman for 10 minutes, firing bat wing projectiles at it. At the next level Cooperman was back Yay !

All in all a graphically impressive game with some interesting level-up options for your chars ( you can even buy better characters later on, and change your costumes to ones having +25% health, etc). Sound and background music is good as well.

Definately try it out Very Happy

I did most of the odd job missions and the arkvoodle cult missions and upgraded my saucer heat ray twice & shields once - redid colt tower with same result !

Defend the hippy tents was hard ! As was kill private so-and-so - some missions are ok while others are very tough.

Have the option to visit the 2nd location albion so will do that - typical console game (!) you are going alone nicely and then run into a brick wall <greeeeatttt>

That gene blender just upgrades your PK and other Psy powers - pretty funny sucking up humansinto your saucer Very Happy

Still am hooked by this infurating game Smile

Done most of Albion - much easier than Bay City ! Gene blended all combo's but ??? ones - disintegrator gun upgraded & saucer heat ray & both shields. Also upped Crytpo's jetpack fully - much easuer now Very Happy Actually don't need that trainer after all ! - will get back to colt tower mission later in the game

Forget about anal probe & discolator guns - just up the disintegrator to 250 charge & twin shot. Just cruising these missions/odd jobs & arkvoodle cult missions Very Happy Very Happy

Got to Yokishama Smile

Game's humour is great with lots of side-missions that are very funny.

If you find some of Baycity hard leave those missions and come back yo them later.

Yokishama has black and white ninjas - should get some cool gene blend from them Very Happy

Tryed both Destroy All Humans 2 and Justice League (thx for the mini review Bugulous) for a short while today.

Spot on about Destroy All Humans 2 Bugulous, extremely well done and polished game in line with the rest of Pendemic's recent Xbox games. Awesome graphics, zany humour, well done voiceovers packed with character, varied gameplay and a great story as you said everything that the first game had just taking it up a notch - im going to save this one at the moment im considering whether or not to complete the first game before I start the second one properly.

Justice League seemed OK, not really sold on the game that much to be honest the previous 2 Xmen RPGs that came out on Xbox and Marvel Nemesis were more up my street this game seems stuck between the 2 genres. The character animations are pretty nice as are some of the moves its perhaps a little too repetitive for my tastes though as you also said its like Baldurs Gate on the Xbox. I own originals of all the old Black Isle RPG's including Baldurs Gate on PC so yup you could say im a fan, its also possibly my favourite pure RPG to date. With that said the much maligned (by people that haven't played it) console version really isn't that bad if you take it for what it is, like I presume you did and don't try to draw comparisons between the earlier PC games. Baldurs gate 1-2 and X Men Legends 1-2 are simply better games in comparison to JLS, their filled with the same sort of action but for that style of game there both packed with depth making it hard to recommend Justice League IMO over them or even this game http://uk.xbox.ign.com/objects/499/499327.html (Hunter the Reckoning) even if your a big fan of superheroes. Smile

Roll on Splinter Cell 4 now on Xbox, Destroy All Humans 2 just restored some of my faith in quality releases still coming out on the old Xbox. Razz

Nice one Starshine Smile

I would play DAH 1 1st as that was an excellent game in its own right - the last 2 missions were very hard -although for Roboprezz I went on foot *before* meeting the Prez, destroying all sam sites I could find.

DAH 2 is a step-up and a treat to get into! I've just done a 10 hour session and the Tokishama island location with the white/black ninjas, yakuza clans & Kijirra monster were superb.

Tungeshka was great and the alien spaceship/base was a lot of fun. Those Russians dancing when you PK'd them 'B' was hilarious Very Happy

Now on Solaris and really enjoying it - got the super-weapon the biological burrow monster

If you want to laugh out loud - upgrade the saucer dude who guards you - his lines are *funny* Very Happy Very Happy

Best weapons - awesome meteor strike *ouch* fully upgraded , disintegrator gun, saucer dude, zap-o-tron

Weak weapons - anal probe, discolator, burrow monster

The game kind of reminds me of the excellent PC Game "No One Lives Forever" with great locations, interplay between the main character and a sidekick, very funny humour and a rivetting story-line with twists and turns.

Still haven't done Bay City's "defend colt tower" mission - so will try again once I have upped *everything*

Loving Solaris ! Some very funny missions there Very Happy
1 tip to finding artifacts/energy cells - wehn you're moving round in the world - check your minimap - energy cells are blue dots while artifacts are red - you need to be within like a 100m of them or so.

Milinkov will get his soooon Laughing

Hee hee finished !

That Gastro fully upgraded is *awesome* - let him do all the fighting Very Happy He kicked Milkanov's alien butt !!

Tip to find all artifacts & energy cells per level - fully upgrade Crypto's jetpack & shields - then go all round perimiter keeping an eye on the mini-map - blue icons=energy cells/red icons (hard to see)=artifacts. Then do 2 diagonals - 1 right of centre/other left of centre - get 99% of these objects.

Tip - On Tungushka you get the weapon artifact "quantum deconstructor" - this upped *must* do that bleedin' colt tower mission in bay city !!!! - nope just tried it - maybe colt tower isn't the right location "anywhere high" - i'll try the fort as well - impossible to do this SP

Hee hee sussed the colt tower mission - *land* the saucer right next to tower, body-snatch a soldier or cop - run to the nearest phone box & call all clear !! Laughing

What a great game - no more posts by me on this un' Laughing
