Steam had a little information popup yesterday that informed about the second preload phase beginning, it also said the game would be unlocked the 25th for US and 27th for EU. (Preloaded files are encrypted and some parts are still missing - game is about 10GB and the preload is about 7 GB now)

I have no idea but if the preload is currently 6.75 GB and still missing data such as the engine and other core components the game may very well be 10GB, though the GCF files may be compressed enough to allow the data on two DVD discs. (Also, the preload for multiplayer content is not yet started so that misses about 2 GB)
GCFScape doesn't tell me much about the data already there but the intro video was nice enough to not be encrypted and there's about 12 levels divided in different sublevels
(40 MB per map roughly - big maps)
Cracked steam client shows the MP component being about 2.5 GB but you can't download it. (Could get the beta earlier but that one has dissapeared)
