Anyone bought the game and used the crack only? Maybe the game runs better without the Tages protection?

I pay'd for it and I cant say it is fast with crack, but it is really nice to not have to listen to ure nocie dvd evry time you load a game.

I have bought the game, performance-wise no difference with or without crack (just start where Gothic 3 logo appears is faster). BUT I found a spare 512 mb ram module and put it in, now I got a total of 1536 mb, and I have to say the performance is much much much better.
The loading times are still quite long, but about 90% of the stuttering and loading while in the game has gone away.

i have 2 gb and like an extra 512 mb of ram but no more ram slots lol, sucks...then again i don't know if 2 gb is the max for win xp or not
here is a question maybe it can be answered it's not really a spoiler I guess more a gameplay issue... If you decide to try and help the orcs and just kill all the humans can you still get trained in magic? are orcs just stupid retards and you gotta be nice to some humans?

Finally could sit and play the game for a while. Wow just wow, its unbelivable how much the combat sucks, its so freaking frustrating. Not just the freaking boars, but wolves, lurkers and other shitty monsters. They attack so fast, its unbelivable, i had to reload several times just to fuckin kill one lurker, which wouldve been ok, but the loadings are pretty long. I wanted to try using different combinations with the sword, but damn, it takes forever to execute one. They just knock you down and thats pretty mcuh it. I ended up using just that quick attack button. And i was seriously thinking of buying this shit.
Im sorry if i offended any fanbois, its just IMO. Maybe im not getting something, but i dont think it should be that way.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

the game starts out as very hard, when I played and even still at times I wanted my character to be able to just hurry the hell up and execute a move or get the hell out of the way but it just won't happen

Yeah thats why i havent completely gave up on the game, heard a lot of people say that combat sucks in the beggining. Ill play for a while, and see by myself. But right now it just plain sucks, oblivion was gazzilion times better.

Uninstalled. Not only is the combat and engine utterly broken, the Gothic series has got to be by far the most boring and drab fantasy setting in a bigname RPG. Even Fable had a more developed setting than this. A bunch of cookie cutter fetch and carry, escort and mobkill (and the obligatory arena) quests and a trite and utterly uninteresting 'free them or don't' storyline round out this broken and mediocre game. Roll on NWN2.

Wow,... did you guys started out gothic2 by running in the forest killing fieldraiders and wolf everywhere? No, you got in Korinis! It's pretty normal you should gain experiences doing non-fighting quest first. This is not a rpg where monsters grow in skills with you like in oblivion, you must accept some are too strong for you (or you use the wrong way to attack them).

If you have AMD X2 install first two patch, if you have Intel Core2Duo or Pentium D install only the first one (not tested personally yet, got it from translated official dutch FAQ). Would like confirmation if this work for Intel (or if there is no problem at the first place if FPS increase)

Does it matter what version of gothic 3 i aquire in relation to using the reload crack?.
Will it do the same job with any of the released versions?

If you didn't leech anything yet, just get the Gothic_III-RAZOR1911 release imho!

why so many bugs? PB had a long development cycle, yet its so riddled of mini-bugs that at the end the game becomes frustrating. its incredible they didnt go into proper testing. in fact I highly doubt they ran and played their own game more than 10 minutes.

for the boars yyou only need to hit them with a couple of well laced arrows. the lurkers can easily be killed by sword once you have a better sword proficiency. you need to time things just right. imo this is better than the button rattling of oblivion. and im bot using fanboyism either. i love oblivion even with all its linearity.
the only bug in this game that affects me is the save game out of memory. if they can patch fixx this,im happy.lol the boars even kill the other npcs just as easily.

Yeah sorry i meant Razor not reloaded, slip of the tongue (or fingers).
Kinda off topic, but in relation to my first question. When a Group makes the image of a game, is that image the same as any other that will be released, the only difference being the crack they provide or the way it is mounted and run?
Maybe i'll re-phrase that. Is the image they release the same as the original or do groups actually alter files before they repack the game into an image file? or is the alteration of files all down on the users end with the groups cracked files???

Troika Studios it was. Spent a shit-load of money on the Source engine and had no more money left to fix all the bugs and stuff.
