simple guide for converting german game to full 100% english

Quote:

install using very first german release Gothic_3_mit_OST_made_by_FZR_Seeker_of_Darkness-GERMAN
or the Gothic.3.VCD8CLONE-ST0N3D

then
download english version or english_speech.pak file and copy the pak file to your gothic3/data folder


now open your gothic3/ini/mountlist.ini and change the following

;Data/Speech_French=Data/Speech_French
;Data/Speech_English=Data/Speech_English

i changed the ge3.ini file in gothic3/ini/ge3.ini just in case its a double check

btw it took less than 3 minutes to fill in my bank account number in the webpage i bought the game from, so now i can play it in english while i wait for it to arrive


also as far as i know THERE WILL NOT BE ANY NOCD CRACK at least not in the near future due to massive patches this game need..
WE DO HAVE A FULLY WORKING SOLUTION
to play this game in english from start to the final end of the game... so therfore we do not need it cracked or comsume time crack it, its a fact.. deal with it Wink

Uh, why would you do all that if you have both the German and English ISOs? Just install the English one and mount the German ISO to play. Now, if you just have the German ISO and the English speech file, you have to do all that.

US version will be out next month. I'll just wait for it. It will probably have another copy protection too cause different publisher in US => normal crack. Less bugs too.

might be someone that "bought" the german one and want english subs'n sounds i dunno, its just a guide to convert it to english :] but anyways i dont think us version will be less bugs as they most likely been printing cd's for at least a month to cover the release date

well dl the game once instead of twice,.. I think it's great

I've collected all ini tweak I could to have better graphic quality and more, could someone please tell me if something in this don't help or if i'm missing something great?

I use a slightly more dated 2.6 Ghz HT P4, 1GB Ram and a 9800XT and if needed I can "play" the game with all options set to the maximum. (Mainly for taking screenshots and such)

However, cities and heavy forests will likely kill your framerate as it kills mine and due to the low ram you will get stuttering when new data is loaded into memory. (Especially cities with all the NPC's and detail)

Set the pixel shader to 2.0 OR 3.0 since your card supports it but 3.0 causes a slight fps hit as everything will look better with it (water and shadows mainly but alot of shaders come in 1.4 / 2.0 / 3.0 variations)

Set the post-processing effect to DoF first to see how it looks and to notice the framerate hit, should it be too much as it probably will be lower it to bloom only or remove it totally.

When those two are set you can freely adjust the other options as suited but the two above requires the game to restart and the initial loading phase may be too long for constant restarts.

You can also try the medium preset first as that's what my computer was set to.
(And your computer is better than mine)

Are you using "depth of field" on a shader model 2.0 card?
(Causes funny issues such as the one above)

Have you edited the INI to increase/decrease view distance?
(Shouldn't cause those issues though)

Disabled the prefetcher?
(Console/INI command stops new data from loading into the game)

My guess would be the DoF effect since the INI is quite powerfull and most people will leave it alone.
(Shield, arms and flame looks to have bloom so you are probably using some post-processing)

Then again it could be alot of other things such as grapic card issues/drivers or anything else.

this sets AF to 16x. Wink

I found this:
HighMemoryLimit=1500000000
which im experimenting with at HighMemoryLimit=1800000000 to see if it will run longer without Save game memroy crashes.

also trying another couple of variables, will check back if they improve it visualy.

THIS TWO OPTIONS MADE GOTHIC3 RUN 35 FPS ALL THE TIME !!!!! no lags , no slowdowns when loading new maps , simply put a perfect tweak Very Happy
