Yeah quite a few to look forward to. I'm waiting for Rome: Total War the most since most of the rest seem to be games that have already been released on console.

Silent hunter 3 is delayed to Q1 2005. HL2 will probably not make it to this month if it doesnt go gold this or next week. Anyhow the titles look very good. I'm looking most forward to The sims 2 and the Call of duty expansion.

I don't understand why all games arn't produced on DVD nowadays, unless they're only 1 CD or production costs are higher. You can buy DVD drives for peanuts, and if your complaining about not being able to back it up on DVD-/+R, just mount it as jaapie18 says. But then who really can't afford a DVD burner either? £50 for a dual layer high speed multi format writer by todays prices.

I want the CD Rip because I don't want to download 50mb files for one. Two, I don't want to install a DVD-ROM nor a DVD burner. Three, I want to archive the game to complete the collection of Myst games, so mounting then deleting isn't worth the download for me.

It's Myst. I am fairly certain someone will do a CD Rip.

The reason why games aren't all released on DVD is simple. THe majority don't have a dvd drive and this majority have no fricking clue how to install one either. And paying someone to install it costs way more the peanuts. I think it'll be the same as when the music went from casettes to CDs, games will start getting released in both formats and eventually CDs will die ut completely.

Although now that blueray DVDs are coming closer and more formats being developed this can take much longer then it would have to.

Myst 4 has gone gold (unofficial via uruobsession forum)

tell me... how many cds go on 1 DVD (DVD5) ?
Let's say about 6 * 700Mb cds with a little extra free space

Well, Myst 4 will be 3 dvd's - and let's forget about the third 'cause it will be (mostly) extra's - so you still need about 12 cds or perhaps more just to play the game. Now who would be happier? The dvd drive owner or the cd drive owner?

Let's not forget the space 12+ discs take in! Thank god they release this game on dvd!

Another fact, most people also buy new expensive video-cards to play the latest games in full quality. those cards sometimes cost even 10times more, so why shouldn't people think about buying an extra dvd drive? It plays well regular cd's...

I just don't see why people start flaming *cause the majority doesn't have a dvd reader* and all that other shit

If ya have the money to buy a new pc, a new vidcard than you have also the money to buy a dvd drive (and people should just ask someone they know to install the drive, that doesn't have to cost any money)
