recommended new card: all depend of the price you can put in, but i recommend you the X1900GT (not very expensive, and very good performance!) |
yea if you like crappy drivers.
go nvidia if you want to play "all" games. unless you dont mind waiting for new drivers for every 5 games released.

Each card manufacturer's cards (ATI and Nvidia) have both advantages and disadvantages to each other. It's a personal preference to use which one. I had some very good (and bad) Nvidia cards as well as ATI ones.
ATI comes with a new card and kicks Nvidia's ass, then Nvidia comes with a new card and kicks ATI's ass and so on and on and on.... Don't believe some retarded people that say Nvidia is better than ATI or the opposite. They're just plain idiotic hooligans that defend the idea 'the one I use is best' like fans of some soccer team. Crappy drivers? WTF? I don't ever remember waiting for a driver to play a game, and remember I used HELLUVALOTTA gfx cards in my time.

Gainward has come up with a great solution for people who don't want to upgrade yet from AGP and it has TWENTY pipelines.
The 7800 Golden Sample [GS]
http://www.gainward.net/products/product.php?products_id=48
It's a 7900GT core on an AGP!

ok, while the graphics card market is not limited to NVIDIA and ATi [not geforce, the geforce name is a nvidia trademark] they are the two main graphic chipsets for the pc.
I have owned both and my impressions are that while the ATi can look better the NVIDIA chipset is arguably the faster card.
And while I like beautiful graphics I have always plumbed for the Nvidia cards.
