Some people should better check their facts before answering questions. |
This is getting really annoying! In DC standalone, there is ONLY ONE CAMAIGN and you CAN PLAY IT WITH ALL RACES(7).

Can't. Then again, you can't play in MP with the warez version, so why bother...

Well, you have to forgive me, I never think of lan as a MP, due to the lan I know.
It sucks to have to install the previous games, and the damned patching system Relic has (incremental patched - you need to have all previous installed in order to install the next one). I guess a fix will eventually come out. But trust me, once you play with the necrons, you won't touch the other races.

Lol, Ati are in deep shit now... There are 2 games that are out and have conflict with the drivers. I guess there will be 6.11a and 6.11b for each game (maybe even more... 6.11c, 6.11d,...).

JUST INSTALL Dawn Of War: Dark Crusade.
There, you got ALL the maps, ALL the modes, ALL the 7 races. In a sweet petite 4gb install.
The ONLY thing you need from Dawn of War original and Winter Assault is the cd-key for when you start Dark Crusade, you DONT need them installed to play with all 7 races at all maps.
Dark Crusade contains EVERYTHING already, its an entirely new independent game-folder.
God, why complicate things so??
Just install Dark Crusade, enter DoW and WA serials ingame at startup, and you are done. |
well, thb, this post DOES sound like all the maps/campaigns from the main game and previous expansion are included with this new expansion.

Official DC Forum wrote: | Getting DC to allow online play with the old five races.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that you MAY INSTALL DARK CRUSADE BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS, AND I RECOMMEND DOING SO.
Ok, I've solved it. DC only seems to check for the EXECUTABLES of DOW and WA, which are
W40k.exe
and
W40kWA.exe
Go ahead and copy them above the Dawn of War folder, rename Dawn of War's folder to something else, then make a new folder called Dawn of War and put the two executables in there. You can delete the old renamed Dawn of War folder if you'd like.
While this is only hypothetical since I've already installed DOW and WA and don't want to uninstall them to test this, follow these instructions to the T unless you know what you're doing.
First of all, you're going to need the executables W40k.exe and W40kWA.exe
To find W40k.exe, insert disc 1 of Dawn of War and view the contents of it (My Computer > right click on the disc name > Explore). Go over to the Data1.cab file and open it. WinRAR can open .cab files for me, but there are probably other archivers that can as well. Find W40k.exe in this archive, copy it, point your file browser to C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War\ and paste W40k.exe in there. [whatever letter your hard drive is, I used C: but if yours uses another letter use that instead]
To find W40kWA.exe, insert disc 2 of Winter Assault. Open WinterAssault3.cab. Find W40kWA.exe, copy it, point it to your \Dawn of War\ folder as above, and paste.
Now for the hypothetical part. I don't guarantee this will work, I only offer what I think might work. Someone will need to verify this.
Open regedit. Follow the folder paths down from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\THQ\Dawn of War\
(Note that this will only be here if you've had Dawn of War installed on your current machine before, if not you'll have to create it - right click THQ, New > Key, name it Dawn of War)
Now, right click Dawn of War, New > String. Do this three times total. Now, name these three strings the following:
InstallLocation
CDKEY
CDKEY_WXP
To modify these strings, right click on them and click the bolded Modify.
For InstallLocation - if you followed the exact folder path above (C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War\) enter that in this string. If not, enter the folder just above where W40k.exe and W40KWA.exe are.
For CDKEY - Enter your Dawn of War CD key in this one - Mine is in all capital letters WITH DASHES INCLUDED, so enter yours in this format (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).
For CDKEY_WXP - Enter your Winter Assault CD key in this one - Mine is in all lowercase letters WITH DASHES INCLUDED, so enter yours in this format (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx)
Note that you are editing your registry at your own risk. If you followed the above it will very likely be fine but you must certainly NOT deviate from this unless you know what you are doing. If you don't have your discs on hand and DOW and WA are not installed, I can't help you. |
Enjoy!

Turn off AA - application preference
or
Turn of CAT ai |
Thanks, turning off CAT ai helped, only in 1024 tho, when i switch to 1280 the problem persists (AA application pref was already disabled).. hope ATI will fix this in 6.11 |
Just drop back a few versions of the cats. I know this sounds like a shitty workaround but I think it will work. Had the same problem eons ago with C&C Renegades beta and it fixed it. ATI goes by the if it aint broke don't fix it theory; Where as Nvidia just fix it and keep previous stuff working.
For the record no fanboy here, I have 3 PCs 2 running ATI one running Nvidia (but it's SLi so it evens out) fair, unbiased opinion. |
resolution problems also fixed now by installing Omega drivers rather then Cat

Who the hell cares about the campaigns in RTS's anyway? Just boring sets of missions where you cant do what you want most of the time. Like "use these 5 dudes to rally together the tribes", not my idea of fun.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM: 4gb Kingmax DDR2 800mhz Video: Asus GeForce 250GTS 1gb Sound: Asus Xonar.
