Europe version is out before the actual WII is launched there ? Surely the dates US/EUR are the wrong way round

yeah I think your right Jonels I was pondering whether or not to preorder it for the Cube or just get a Wii and they list the date as December (that was on Game's website).

Worried about the Wii control scheme, initial reports are saying it feels like a cheap port... I think I might miss the GC control scheme... but the GC version doesn't come out until December...

I was just waiting for a comprehensive review before purchasing to be honest. I've no doubt that Nintendo won't mess this game up as its been in development for so long and is one of their flagship titles that has historically delivered the goods in every department.

I kind of fealt that if the graphics and control system were substancially better on the Wii then I would be better off spending the extra on the console as well because I know that if I got the title for the Cube and it was as good as I expect it to be then I'd probably get the Wii version at a later date as well, buying the same game twice effectively which is a complete waste of money.

The graphics aren't as big a concern me as the controls are, I still think the Cube has some very good looking titles and that comes from someone with a high end PC. Thats the beauty of Nintendo games though the graphics are very stylised, I guess you could refer to them as art where as on a machine like the PC nowadays in most cases its all about high poly models/"the power of 3"/PhysX cards/DX10 and all that over marketed shit which looks technically stunning but ages very, very quickly from year to year. Smile

I agree with you StarShine on everything you said.

One thing. Even if for some reason the controls on Wii are borked, and I highly doubt that, then I'm sure you can just plug in your regular controler and play it just like on the Cube.

The screens for this game look very nice, looking forward to this.

Yeah, see the thing is though I was swaying the other way from both yourself and sTo0z thinking that I might miss out on the gimmicky aspects of the Wii remote control which were displayed at the E3 stageshow. Im a sucker for novelty controllers/games which have a fun element to them so the Wii Zelda stageshow really appealed to me over just using a standard controller even though im sure the games quality will be enough to capture the players imagination.

Time will tell, I'll keep my eyes peeled for an objective final hands on of both versions. Smile

I don't think the controls in the Wii version will be very good. Imo a third-person action-adventure game like Zelda isn't really suited for the Wii contoller. And what they showed at E3 looked only like a gimmicky afterthought to me. I'm pretty sure it will play better with the Gamecube controller. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know but I guess I will play it on Gamecube.

1.) Everyone who has played it say that not only does the control scheme work, it DOES NOT get tiring, and can even be more relaxing (sitting forward with two hands on 1 controller is NOT a natural position...) than playing with your standard controller.

2.) The sunshine shit is BS. The sunlight needs to be directly hitting the device. The device needs to be positioned basically near your TV. Who the hell sets up a TV so sunshine DIRECTLY hits it? I'm not saying "light" but if you put your head where the bar is, you would need to be looking directly at the sun for this to occur, and EVEN THEN it doesn't always cause problems...

The Wii is the first game system I've been excited about in avary long time.

I also read in a review that the wii controller makes this game a lot of fun to play, and that it works better than the normal controls in the gamecube version

Played the Wii last night at a local game store. They only had excite Truck to demo. The controls are going to take a little bit getting used to. The controller feels good in your hand, and the response time seems to be dead on. I might have to pick one up just for Zelda, Wario, and Mario.

well.. from what I understand.. the Wii version will NOT be playable on any control scheme but with the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Likewise, the Cube version, while it CAN be played on a Wii.. will not be compatible with the wiimote. The other factor here is widescreen. The Wii version supports widescreen resolutions... the Cube version does not. I dont know for sure, but I think that the Wii version might also be the only version that supports a progressive scan resolution. Hope this helps Very Happy

P.S. This is a joke right? WiiCLONE.Tools.READ.NFO-Wii

Oh... and as if you werent salivating enough... a friend of mine in LA attended the last E3 and played several Wii titles... and HE claims.. that its the best thing to happen to gaming. Period.

Well if the game supported both control setups then there wouldnt be the need to release two versions I would have thought?

has anyone seen the Wii "Optical Disc" size yet? Are they now full size DVDs instead of the mini-DVDs of yore?

First off, the date is wrong, the december date is for the cube version. The wii version will be available on day one of launch(19th in US).

And second, nobody should even hesitate buying the game because of 'rumors of tacked-on controls' or whatever. From what I have read(waay too much), the only ones who ding the game for its controls were those who got to play the e3- or some other early demo for a half-hour or less. If even the wii-haters at 1up.com showered praise on the control scheme, there is no way anyone else could find fault in it. Actually, every reviewer with a full copy of the game gives the same opinion: you would be a fool to pass up the experience of playing on the Wii as opposed to the GC, if at all possible.

And finally, I am seriously doubting anyone has cracked the Wii protection yet. Besides the fact that only serious game reviewers and bloggers have a system(and probably signed their lives away for one), I am guessing Nintendo didn't slack off on protecting their games this time around. Seeing as the cube was the last one with any kind of decent workaround(actual modchip) last-gen, I am sure they will be this gen, as well.

So yeah, just buy the game. It's zelda. It's 70hrs+ of playtime all told. It will look gorgeous at 16x9 and progressive scan. So no-brainer. Yeah.

Agreed. Games like this deserve all the support you can give, especially a paltry 49.95.

I'm psyched.

Ok.. Im not saying its possible.. just saying "if" the Wii were hacked, day one, and there was a clone of Twilight Princess available immediately....

A. 100% of Zelda fans would opt to buy it if it were available
B. 98% of Nintendo fans would opt to buy it if it were available
C. 95% of everyone else would opt to buy it if it were available

Nintendo has more followers than Jesus, Buddha, Alah and the Easter Bunny put together.
