All War40k factions + many more are being modded in. I should know: our Advanced AI team incorporates all the AI for almost 95% of em. Nids are part of that and damn wait til its out. Its in closed beta and totally will blow everyone away! We're just waiting on DC to add in the next level of modding code.

this game could be played as standalone ( according to IGN article)
if you have only dark crusade you could play all races in single and tau/necrons only in multi
if you have alll 3 games - all will be playable

There shouldn't be any protection. That has already been confirmed by the publisher/developer. They are no longer in the business of using copy protection. patch 1.5 of Winter assault removes the Cd check.
