I've read on the RSC forums someone comparing it to GPL which suggests to me keyboard users won't be having an easy time, nor will they be enjoying the subtleties of the game.
Wheel, or analogue controller such as a joystick at least is going to be a necessity for those that want to stick with the game.
I've yet to download though.

Hah, very cool of Reloaded to release both a CD custom job AND a DVD version, in order to satisfy both camps. My CD burners are happy a little while longer, at least, and since you can install from the CDs like normal (at least, if they didn't just copy + paste the nfo from their DVD version), their CD version should be able to be patched. Quite awesome.
I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. Rally racing is the shit, and the 2 hours per rally that Speed Channel gives North American viewers is not nearly enough. Can you get 24 hour streams during the rallies in European countries? Germany perhaps (I'd learn the language and move there if that was the case)?
Edit: Ah nuts, looks like they just copied over the nfo. Still hoping, though. Gotta have hope.

Great game! but onfortunately also problems here.. First the game runs ok, but suddenly during a load (menu) things go wrong.
The game hangs for a couple of seconds and then there are strange artifacts in the graphics... (System: P4 3.0 on P4C800E-del, 1 GB dual mem, FX6800 GT *forceware 65.73 )

Rally games by their very nature i feel are a little boring and frustrating but i do think that RB Rally is much better and more involving than the mcrae series. I think the sim addicts out there will really enjoy this game. You need a fairly powerfull pc to run it nicely too.
Now where's Half Life 2....

this games for the hardcore ... hence the controll issues.
U need a good steering wheel to get the most outta this game.
This game aint for the masses (EG CMR)......

The controls with keyboard are so awful!!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt try with wheel controller, may be the things are really better.
The graphics are medium for me and the xpand has the best i have ever seen at rally games.
Also they could have another one camera (more far) that would help at controls...

The weird black lines appear when you have Anti Aliasing on. Turn it off.

It seems to happen with anisotropic filtering on too, this is very annoying because some of us buy 500$ cards just to use those features,
otherway a 200$ card would be well enough for all games...
This is a game who target hardcore sims racers,
many hardcore gamers buy those cards and want such features to work!

Really the best (most realistic) rallygame out there, but it takes a really good computer to run it though.
Ive got a xp3200+, 512Mb, geforceti4600 and with everything on low and 1024x768x16 it still stutters just enough to make it difficult not to make mistakes.
I guess a wheel is a must for this game, which it should be for any car-simulation i think.
This game and Live For Speed is the only car-sims thats on my HD and they wont "ever" be erased.
I haven't had a sinle problem with freezing, graphical glitches, back to desktop or any other problems at all.
Too bad that my comp cant run this baby smooth though.
Well, well, atleast i have whooped Richard Burns ass in the first "shootout", so i now have another car to play with.
(ok, you got me,i only told you that to show off )

Why does it have such high system requirements then, it doesn't look that great in screenshots.
I have a P4 2.66 and Ti 4200, and CMR 3, 4 and 5 (demo) run very well at medium or high settings (eg 60-100fps at 1024x768x32). Sounds like I'd be getting 20fps in RBR if I was lucky though.

I guess the amount of physics calculated uses alot of cpu speed atleast!?
I read that the game even calculate what happens inside the engine, with compression, spark and to get the axhaust out and so on. The engine gives different power depending on the height over the sea-level your driving at, calculating what happens to the engine with different atmosphere pressure and so on. Like in real life.
So, like i said, i guess this game should be pretty demanding atleast on the cpu.
Well, anyway, some "code-hunting" would do the trick to get this game to run smooth even without one of NASA:s top-notch science computers...
I guess we'll have a patch of some kind after this game has been out for a couple of weeks.
