Not a whole lot... a tutorial battle.. and two historical battles. It shows you the battles and thats about it. Enough!

No preview of the new campaign map at all

What the hell, it seems like you need a frickin SSE2 processor to run it http://p223.ezboard.com/fshoguntotalwarfrm55.showMessage?topicID=4485.topic

Downloaded the demo and now i cant fucking run it beacuse i have an athlonxp, and im sure a major part of the fanbase got cpu without sse2.

I hope this is just a requirement for the stupid demo...

that's because you have to preorder the game to get access to it.
I still wonder though why noone upped it anywhere yet.
does it require a key or something?

Are you fucking joking? It's been uploaded everywhere. I got it 2 days ago. And not, it doesn't need a key.

very very impressed with the graphics engine, runs great (unless you up the unit detail to highest where the sprites are completely turned off). all the grass and reflections and the bloody clothes and shit, smooth sky with bloom done right! i was kinda scared that it would be exaggerated like in almost every other game Smile

Definitely, man. The graphics fucking rule. The only things that bother me are that spear-armed cavalry apparently pull back their spears into the upright position right before charging into an enemy instead of keeping them pointing forwards like they should Sad

Hopefully that's just ab ug that gets fixed in the final version. Also, i'm pissed that the demo noly lets you play scripted historical battles and not custom battles or even a small demo campaign Sad Sad Man, I want the fucking game!!! I can't fucking wait any longer though!!!!!!!! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

"A day or so ago, the Dutch-Belgian gaming magazine PC Gameplay I'm subscribed to came out with an ingame hands-on movie of the upcoming game Medieval 2: Total War and to my suprise it seems as though John Hurt is providing the voiceover for the historic battles..

For the first few minutes, I didn't really pay attention to it; I was just watching the game footage, but then it suddenly dawned on me: 'that's a familiar voice!'.. So I replayed it and from what I can tell John Hurt has provided the voiceovers for this game..

I have to say that I really like him as an actor and am impressed with the fact that he's agreed to do this type of work.. Brian Blessed provided the voiceovers for Rome: Total War - Alexander and now John Hurt.. Absolutely wonderful!"

He voiced a bartender in privateer 2 aswell, however he wasn't the only 'high' profile actor there Christopher Walken was also in the cast.

You mean that a magazine that thought it was him has more credibility then the actual developers ?? Laughing

Naaa, that's from a forum post at IMDB , somebody posted simply that they recognized his voice. I only found it cause i was wondering if John Hurt was listed doing the M2TW voice acting there. I also recognized the voice but never thought of J.Hurt until you mentioned it.
Could be somone else that sort of sound like him. I am not sure.

Most of the time developers don't know the voice actors they're using they hire a company who has alot of potential actors at their disposal, they then try and figure out which actors voice is best suited for which characters based on the developers description of how they would like their voices to sound.
Relic weren't aware they were using actors such as Crispin freeman until someone at their forums pointed it out for them.
