hmm, AC'97 is pritty cool as it saves u having to buy some rip off creative sound card ($400 for a sound card wtf, yes ano u can get cheaper,. making a point, gfx card is first thing on my hardware list tbh....), I have AC'97 audio codecs on a Nvidia nforce 4 mobo i think, pritty sure its nforce 4, no other games are a prob, including san andreas with the 1.1 patch, btw sjondemanager have u tried running dxdiag, sound properties and turning sound acceleration down to basic, it kinda fixes san andreas probs , also m8, u using 5.1 setup?
Good luck
Nick

Ouch that kinda is a bad choice to use onboard sound its a kinda old motherboard today i think some games dont like this and thats the reason. Buy an cheap Audigy 2 or 4 and you will get ten times better sound.
