They said at X06 that SC5 is XBox360 and Games for Windows exclusive.
So it's coming to both, but not PS3 Razz

That sucks that the 360 version looks better. Everything I've read said that both the PC and 360 versions would be "exactly the same" graphically. So that's a bit of a disappointment. I've watched the gameplay videos on youtube and it looks amazing. I've never played any of the Splinter Cell games, but it looks really fun. One video showed him climb under a truck and grab onto the bottom as it drove off. I don't know the story or anything, but I'm pretty excited about this game.

how do you know, that the x360 version looks better?
I think that is just a rumor...

Rolling Eyes then give me a dx10 GFX card

At first neither x360 has dx10 abilities. And second who played it? That Game is not even
out yet. So I think this is suerly just bull crap

the xbox360 has some pixel shader revisions that were added from part of the development, and were derived from the work being done by the directx team. Thats why the GPU is listed as using shader model 3.0+. Its not directx10 but its not the same as directx 9 on the PC its well...like directx 9.1. Thats why it can do some cool wave simulation effects that you see in games like far cry instincts. Iplayed 3 builds of splintercell DA and what i said is some of the particle effects look a bit better on the 360 but other than that its pretty much the same.

Both X360 and PS3 are at "dx9.1" (for the lack oof better term) when compared to current hardware. In a few months, when DX10 hardware comes out, both will be old-gen. This is why PC is always a "next-gen" (for the lack of better term Wink and consoles are boxes of crap!

360 does NOT use dx9.1
it has its own api which has features that dx9 currently doesnt have.

And that could mean it's DX9.1 because 9.1 doesn't exist and you name it that way! But that would mean the Xbox 360 was and is over a year better than the pc! That's very good! And still after that: on a HDTV LCD it still looks more interesting for me!
But that fucking doesn't matter! I fucking want SC4 RIGHT FUCKING NOW Evil or Very Mad

Please learn to read! As I said, I used the "dx9.1" term for the lack of a better one. DX9.1 doesn't exist, and never will. Both X360 and PS3 use unique APIs, but they come nowhere as close to DX10's proposed features (i.e. SM4.0).

The final version of DX9 will be DX9.0L. This is the DX9 version you will be able to use on Vista.

This comes from the Nov UK OXM review, I thought id pass it along :

Quote:
Without doubt, this is the most diverse and open-ended Splinter Cell game to date - allowing you to approach missions far more aggressively than in previous games, while never skimping on the stagerring array of stealth options avaiable to you. This freeform approach is further embelished by the option to either save anywhere, rely on predefined checkpoint saves, or, if you're really indecisive, a combination of the two.

...not sure if this is old but its definitely new to me.

If you mean the save systems, it's been around a while, but I think a lot of people have missed it.

I've put up a nice review from the OXM magazine, in case anyone missed that one too:

Probably because of a combination of 128MB RAM (will be upgraded to 512, hopefully today) and the fact that the server is being hammered for all the other content on the site.
It's actually on 10Mbit and hopefully it will show when I get some new hardware in there.
