My rumor is, they want to go back to the roots and create it only for the xbox 360! They want to fully load the Xbox 360 with every grafics they can give!
But we'll see...

Thats why the GPU is listed as using shader model 3.0+. Its not directx10 but its not the same as directx 9 on the PC its well...like directx 9.1. Thats why it can do some cool wave simulation effects that you see in games like far cry instincts. Iplayed 3 builds of splintercell DA and what i said is some of the particle effects look a bit better on the 360 but other than that its pretty much the same. |
Both X360 and PS3 are at "dx9.1" (for the lack oof better term) when compared to current hardware. In a few months, when DX10 hardware comes out, both will be old-gen. This is why PC is always a "next-gen" (for the lack of better term and consoles are boxes of crap! |
360 does NOT use dx9.1
it has its own api which has features that dx9 currently doesnt have.

The final version of DX9 will be DX9.0L. This is the DX9 version you will be able to use on Vista.

This comes from the Nov UK OXM review, I thought id pass it along :
Quote: | Without doubt, this is the most diverse and open-ended Splinter Cell game to date - allowing you to approach missions far more aggressively than in previous games, while never skimping on the stagerring array of stealth options avaiable to you. This freeform approach is further embelished by the option to either save anywhere, rely on predefined checkpoint saves, or, if you're really indecisive, a combination of the two. |
...not sure if this is old but its definitely new to me.

Probably because of a combination of 128MB RAM (will be upgraded to 512, hopefully today) and the fact that the server is being hammered for all the other content on the site.
It's actually on 10Mbit and hopefully it will show when I get some new hardware in there.
