Crap! It dies after a few seconds, any ideas? I get no message or anything, just jumpes out to the desktop.

i had that trouble ,but fixed it eventually by making the blob file again making sure steam was exited exactly when the 2nd bar came up ,make sure you get rid of the warning screen u get when closing steam by tickking "do not show this message again" before u attemp to make another blob file.
Can't rule out coincidence that this worked for me ,but i did try several times before and it didn't work (game would quit to desktop as soon as it loaded or run for 2 sces), then when i was on the ball about quitting steam exactly when the 2nd bar loaded it has worked like charm since

after you do the blob file thing does steam need to be running when you actually start running cs source?

no its only needed to make the blob file,after make sure it is off and don't run it again or it will invalidate your cd key. The V4 noname has its own hacked cut down version of steam to connect

Do you actually have to get the cracked version going(eg you choose the stress test from a menu), or is it command line eg hl2.exe -vidtest??
Im one of those unfortunate people that cant get the crack to work:(

did you work out the deliberate mistake in the readme ?
quote... "Open SteamApp.cfg and under replace SteamInstallPath="C:\" with where ever your CSS folder is. Now replace SteamAppUser=Youremail@here.com with a valid steam email address."
obviously it should be your steam username and not steam e-mail

Omg what a trouble just to register to give an answer, make it work !
"C:\Program Files\Proggies\BitTorrent++\incoming\Counter-Strike Source v3 packed by [-aRcTiC-]\CSSourceV3\hl2.exe" -dxlevel 8.1 -steam -console -game cstrike
Is my my "Target" line in the "Properties" of the Shortcut you had to make of the HL2.exe.
This is what the readme allready told you to add to the Target line of the shortcut: -steam -console -game cstrike
I just added: -dxlevel 8.1 (like in my target line, place isn't an issue I believe in the line. Also older dxlevel's work, like 8.0, 7.0 .. etc..)
Only negative I've noticed is that it sets all Gfx back to Directx 6.0 standards ?!? I Think ?!? (So check this by going to advanced in options: video [Maybe set everything higher manual like i needed to do])
