Its quite obvious at this point there is a memory leak in this game. I've been playing for about 90 minutes, and the game is using 800 MB of ram.

Well this is something new (not!). Jowood and 4head released a beta. Let the german users pay to beta-test a game, fix it with patches --> like you do in normal beta phase. Then when the beta test is finished release a "gold" version with some extra's not in the original and let them pay again. And offcourse in november the final patch will fix the game, but the profit is still for this tax year.
Sorry but they have business sense, you cant blame that at least.
O yea, this is the reason i (and alot of others) download games. Thank you Jowood & devteam for pointing out our case without making us feel terrible to be pirates.

Not everything they publish is garbage, I'm willing to give them credit for Silent Storm, it was a solid game. But, over-all they're sketchy.

I loved Tropico. That was a good game. So was Etherlords, Spellforce and the original The Guild.

The 1.15 patch doesn't do a whole lot. The game becomes unplayable after a few hours of play. Seems to be a problem with a AI path finding. It's all over the official boards. It keeps freezing up over and over.

anyway the funny thing about it is that this game brough my thoughts on Deus Ex 2 remember the Uk version had SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many bugs that Eidos said it was a beta and made a official statement "WE ARE SORRY" , it was a backstabbing for those that buyed the game , for them this was like "Thanks for the Beta testing fuckers " hahahaha .....anyway Guild 2 looks nice but will wait for the real GOLD version before i will try this game , like i did with Deus ex 2 {buyed the GOLD bug free version for 5$ after 7 months }

after reading some of the posts on the jowood forums, I quit hoping this will ever be good.
How the FUCK can they release this game? I've been waiting for what, five years since TG1. And they fuck it up. It's a shame, really. It only hurts Jowoods reputation. Who's gonna want to buy stuff from them after this? Embarassing and complete nonchalant to consumers (downloaders)!

This game is a prime example of my philosophy. And since i already pointed that out earlier in this topic and since alot of people who come here share the same philosophy, we are tired of being fucked over distributors!
Because of this action (jowood/4head) and the usual "no return when bought" policy of gamestores, we see who the real crooks are! Yes, the entertainment industry blaming crappy sales on piracy, big fu. They ruin their own reputation, they make us pirate games cos we dont trust them anymore. How harder a game is too crack the more suspicious i get, why would they need such heavy protection on a good game? if its good it gets sold (see galactic civilizations 2 without DRM) No its to make sure the honest person gets fucked up his arse by a big shaped gorilla when he bought a game and finds out it has the replay value of a heroine hooker with HIV or the graphics of the 80ties with enhanced lightning techniques.
Most of us here on the forum which went into downloading of software have opened our eyes years ago, we are enlighted we felt too many times fucked over when buying games and finding out it was not as the trailer showed it, just pre-rendered shit. The price was totally crap after 5 hours of gameplay till the end (hello 50 bucks for 5 hours? wtf). Hey, that sequel is totally fucked up and rushed!?!?!?
Hey who is that? its the producer of Deus Ex 2 driving a nice Mercedes SLK! wtf!. The Deus Ex 1 guy deserved one for his work but that guy just cashed in on the name of Deus Ex by selling it to consoles and doesnt care about how good a game is or what it could have been if he spend the money right?
/me bows down to piracy groups which manage to help us playtest these games so we can rightfully test it before buying! It saved me alot of HARD earned money.... demo's anyone? o yea i forget after official release date we might make one with starforce install as requirement to play it. You just might see it is total crap before buying <evil laughter plays here>.
P.S. For the record if i play a game which i enjoy i buy it.

However now you know that everytime they wave their hands in the air it means you failed.

The original was far better in terms of gameplay. The whole marriage/multicharacter control bullshit just adds more micromanagement to what is already too much IMO. Plus, only one or two items on the market actually have any use (Perfume and Armors/Weapons), the rest is just useless fodder.
Playing a Patron is the same as playing the scholar is the same as playing a Craftsmen. You would think a scholar would have a political or social advantage, alas, tis not the case. So in reality there are only two classes - Craftsmen / Rogue. Far easier and more satisfying to simply play as a Rogue and get three or four times the income in the same amount of time and use it to bribe as charisma is apparently broken. Sad excuse for a sequel
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Daemon tools 4.06 works on guild 2, dont need asr or pr0t
Edit : will only work if you load with the Autorun screen ie deamon tools - load image - start
Loading the shortcut or main exe and it complains about putting in the correct cd
