As a horror/thriller movie lover, I got quite scared by "Dead End" and "Session 9".

I must admit i enjoyed Dead End and yes it was very freaky indeed.
But 1 film i do remember scaring the shit out of me when i was about 7 years old was salem's lot the part where the guy is in the jail cell and the vampire comes to get him"at that moment my mother said the vampire don't appear on the screen like a any normal vampire" and just like me i said "yeah right once you've seen 1 vampire film you seen em all",needless to say the vampire jumped in front of the screen and i must have jumped about 3 foot in the air and looked at my mother and said i'm going to bed now lol.
Took me another 5 years before i actually sat down and watched the whole of that film.

Another film that scared the shit out of me was The Titan Find an old 80's sci-fi horror film similar to event horizon.

The list is endless and if you wanna watch a film that will disturb you for the rest of your natural life, watch "I Spit On Your Grave" fuck the scene where she cuts his dick off in the bath will haunt me forever ,god i sat there protecting my own nutz lol,and you could feel the pain and that was just by watching it.

Those who loved nekromantic here should definitely check out Nacho Cerda's "Aftermath"...rare spanish movie (really great though), half hour long (If I remember correct, SiCK released a VHS-rip of it)...same theme as nekromantic, only this time it looks freaking real :-s (I didn't like nekromantic that much because everything looked so plastic/fake)... The aforementioned Bizita Q also has necrofilia in it..

Aftermath is a great way to scare off some new-found friends...tell 'em you're gonna watch a cool horror movie and put that one on.... trust me, 99% of those new-found friends you won't see again Smile

Other notable movies you'd have to see:
Audition (slow start but middle/ending makes up to it)
Koroshiya (aka Ichi the Killer - pretty sadistic gore movie)

Audition was great the whole move i say... i dont think its slow at all, it just 'changes' at the end Razz

hmm i remember the first time i saw Chainsaw Massacre (original) that blew me away... even had problems sleeping.
Same goes for Stephen King's Silverbullet, but i saw that one when i was quite young, could wake up screaming from time to time Sad

Blairwitch wasnt so bad... sure it wasnt so scary as i tought it would be but it was still ok Very Happy

as for Koroshiya that was one disturbed movie, i didnt know it was so giry so i loaded up with lots of things to eat... i stopped eating after awhile...
but the end blew me away Very Happy loved it...

Didn't see your post so sorry for the late reply. Yep the movie was called When a Stranger Calls. And the guy was upstairs not in the basement.

I really like The Thing by John Carpenter. The mood was very chilling, the idea was good, the effects are a bit dated, but still good. Very underrated.

Movies that messed me up:

Ju-on
Ju-on 2
and
Dark Water

Those were Japanese movies in true Ringu spirit. Really creepy.

Also, all this talk about Blair Which Project. It all depends on what expectations you have when watching it.
If you werent scared shitless when watching it, you probably are a desentitized action movie watcher Smile
Its all about whats going on in your own head. Personally, my imagination really messed me up when I saw it at the movies.

Anyway, if you liked Ringu (The Ring), try out the Ju-on movies and Dark Water. Also, The Eye was pretty good.
